Girl groups & boy bands or solo artists

There hasn't been any proper boy bands around for a while, just male guitar bands. There are some girls bands around, but not as many as there used to be. The girl groups are largely pop and the new "boy bands" are pop-indie. There are many more solo artists around these days. What do you prefer? The girls groups and boy bands, or the solo artists with their varied approach to music?

I prefer the solo artists, as they tend to be less manufactured than the girl or boy bands. But I'm an old fart with no stereo, so you probably don't want to to listen to me anyway!

Hi! Yeah I have been noticing that too but when I really think about it. The only girl group I know that became famous was the Spice Girls. I can still think of some but they did not become as famous as the Spice Girls or the Pussycat Dolls. The Pussycat Dolls nowadays are fading from the limelight. They have no new songs and Robin Antin is busy with her new girl group Girlicious. I dont really go into the singers but I go for the songs. The singers gain reputation for me when they have enough or almost all of their songs are famous, otherwise they are kinda called one of the one or two hit wonders. So in general whether they are a band or a solo artist as long as the songs are a hit with me even if they are not for others thats what I go for.
