Have you ever completely forgotten your MyLot password?

This morning I showed up at MyLot after a full day off from posting, ready to start again. But, when I did, I found that I'd been logged out of MyLot. My computer does it's daily cleaning at night and deletes all the cookies on the computer, so that logs me out of my favorite sites like Blogger, Yahoo, MyLot, etc.
No big deal, or at least you'd think. So, I went to enter all my details into the little box. Guess it was a little early for me, cause I couldn't even remember my password. It's a pretty unique password, but I have it memorized. And, ordinarily I don't have a problem with it.
Finally, after the third attempt, I remembered my password and got in. Has that ever happened. to you'? What do you do? Do you ask the system to send you the password by email? Have you ever signed up again, because you didn't have your password and you didn't have access to the email address you used when you first signed up?

No, Never. I have kept it simple and other than that my browser saves it and I do not clean the cookies so regularly. Even if I do, I always have the conformation email as a backup and just have find it in the inbox and find the password. just a search away.

That is a good idea. I have actually put my confirmations in a folder, so I do not even need to search.

That is really good that your computer does that, I think something in my computer needs cleaning as the computer is having a technical issue with something. I ran a full system scan and all it picked up was a tracking cookie which I sorted, but it does not help that I do not really know what cookies are.
I have never forgotten my password here, but have done it on other sites. I have a little book and I write them all in it and then the book is hidden, it is in disguise and all what I write in it is in code so no one knows what it all means!

Since then, I've realized what a blessing my
spyware protection is.
My Boware spyware remover from Comodo
caught a trojan horse that was just
unzipped from some documents that I had downloaded
from a supposedly legitimate business online.
It would have destroyed my computer operating system.
The Boclean picks up on suspicious activity
and doesn't just look for known spyware threats.

Almost all my sites have the same password. It's only one or two that are different...so I don't forget them.
As far as myLot goes, I've set it to some option where I never have to log in.
My husband has no clue about this site and no one else is going to try to access it from my computer.

I have a little book that I have written my passwords in, because I have too many. After an update my desk top was not recognizing some of my passwords, so I created new ones.I did not get them all down. So yes, sometimes, I have been unable to log in.

I will try that idea.
I will keep my passwords
in my MyLot discussion ideas
notebook. It has references
to all of my important links.
So it will work nicely there.
Thanks for the terrific idea!

Yes, once I had forgotten the mylot password. That was in my initial days in mylot. I had to take the help of password recovery and then finally I got it to my email id. But, now I don't need to think my password, I type it automatically..

I'm always forgetting passwords, but so far I haven't forgotten myLot's. I'm constantly having to press the "forgot password?" button. LOL
I like the idea of your first response... write them down! The trouble is, I keep forgetting to do that. *sigh*
I want to be young again!

The only time I have that problem is IF I haveto give a diffrent password. I use the same password for ALL of my accounts that way I really dont have to remember which one has what pass word. That way it is much easier for me to remember.

I don't have that problem as I write all mine down. I keep an address book for my passwords into the sites that I use. It does come in handy when I haven't been on for a while or if I need to change something. Glad to see you were able to get back in.
