I like poached eggs, I'll put em in a bowl and cut them up and add torn pcs. of toast that's buttered, mix em together and have a slice of ham or sausage with it and some cold milk.I have an egg poacher it hold two eggs and sits on a small steamer that you put a little water in the bottom and set it on med. heat I steam em for about 2 or 21/2 minutes, that's the way I like em, how do you do yours or would you not like em cause there not fully cooked?

Eggs are always good and one of my favorites. When you put a little vinegar in your water when you poach eggs you get better results. The eggs won't get all those stringy bits. If you really want a pretty poached egg then you can use a ring in your pan. I know it's sounds "cheffy" but it sure looks good if you have people over.

They taste delcious and do not require alot of effort.

Poached eggs are about my favorite use for eggs! I sometimes will put some fresh dill, chives, or whatever herbs I have on hand in with them and then poach them. My poacher will hold 6 eggs at a time, plus my toaster will also poach eggs and even heat some breakfast meat to go with it. I will also sometimes put shredded italian mix cheese with them before cooking them. They are really good that way!

Mmmmm, poached eggs, I love 'em. I do mine in a saucepan. I bring a saucepan of water to the boil to which I have added a few drops of vinegar (not quite sure why, but that's what my mum does), when the water boils I whisk it so that it looks like a whirlpool and then drop an egg into it; whisking the water helps keep the white and yolk together. I simmer the egg for about 2-3 mins, depending on the size and then take it off the heat and let it sit in the hot water for about another minute, carefully remove with a slotted spoon and hey presto! a yummy, scrummy poached egg.

Hi td, what a fascinating and interesting post about poached eggs. Naturally the fool proof way to cook them is in an old fashioned poach pan, I actually had one handed down through the generations, well one generation most likely, but in the end sadly the metal warped.
