Laptop users, I have a silly question...

We recently bought a Dell Inspiron B130 and I need to know how to do something. OK, so you know how on your monitor for a desktop pc you have those buttons on the monitor that allow you to move, stretch or change the way the stuff shows on your screen? Well how can I do that with my laptop cause it does not have buttons like a regular monitor and the stuff is too small on the screen, but if I go into Display Settings and change the size, then it just makes it bigger but does not stretch it across the screen. KWIM? Can you help me with this?
