Hi friends! I've a desktop where I work. I am thinking of buying a laptop if I get a good buyer for my desktop. Since my desktop and Tv are in separate rooms, I miss most of my TV programs as I get more involved on the computer, mainly mylot ofcourse. If you have a laptop then it becomes easy to do both things at a time otherwise with desktop you have to choose one of it. So if you have desktop, is TV in the same room?If laptop, then you do both the things simultaneously?

As for me, I installed a TV tuner in my desktop, so I'm surfing the net, MyLotting, and watching the TV in the background at the same time, with the Tv screen set to just a small window active in the PC monitor., I have a laptop too but I don't usually bring it home, I would often left it in the office.

Yep, and using only one machine, my PC. So it also saves electricity because I didn't have to have both the television and the PC turned on at the same time.

So you are into Software? That's the reason you prefer desktop for high graphic applications.

My desktop and tv are in the same room so most of the time the desktop. But the main reason for that is because my daughter usually has the laptop in her room.

I have a desktop in my bed room and a T.V. I also have a laptop. Well, it's mainly my dads but I can use it whenever. I still miss my T.V shows sometimes even with a T.V in my room because I to get too involved with the computer. but I always have them on in the background.

My desktop is set up in the bedroom next to the TV so I can watch my fave programs and surf the net at the same time. We have a laptop as well which my husband tends to use more than I do. I prefer to use a full sized keyboard instead of those horrid little ones you get on laptops generally.

Its easier to work with full sized keyboard. Being both desktop and TV in the same room is ideal. That way you don't miss any of them.

I don't have a laptop, but I would love one specifically for the reasons you stated. I like my TV, but I have a hard time just sitting and watching it sometime. Wouldn't it be great to have the laptop right there? Actually another benefit of having the laptop right there with the TV is we're always looking up stuff about the shows, the actors, the countries, you name it.

Hi whittby! I would also prefer to have a laptop as being portable we can take it anywhere and work. Ya, we can also at the same time look up for the details of TV shows and watch accordingly.

Luckily, the TV is within view from the computer. So, I can type and watch TV at the same time. Occasionally, I do find it difficult to concentrate on what I'm writing because I'm trying to focus on what's happening on TV. Not so much anymore, though. I think I heard my mom talking about wanting to change things in the room. I'll make sure that they are still in a good place.

At times it gets difficult to concentrate on our work while watching TV, but gradually we manage to do both at the same time.

I still don't have computer at home. I work on mylot during office hours. I have two jobs so I have to computers to use. One in the 8am to 5pm work and the other is in my evening work which is until 10pm. I planned to buy a laptop so I can bring it whenever I wish to go. In terms of TV, I have much time on it, whenever I am not in front of the computer...

I don't think TV and desktop in the same room is a good idea. When i play with pc ,i don't want to do anything else.while watching TV Exactly the same as playing with pc.Maybe because i rather do some thing whole-hearted than do things simultaneously .

I used to always work on my laptop in the living room while watching t.v. I do digital scrapbooking and it was easy to do the two things simultaneously! Now I have my laptop in the office with my husbands computer and we spend most of our time together in there. I only have a few tv shows I watch anymore...

hi, I do have a desktop, a t.v. and a laptop. whenever I am home, I use the desktop and yes, I have the t.v. in the same room with it although it does get your attention away from work sometimes. I only use my laptop at home when my kids are using the desktop. other than that... the laptop is for mobile jobs.

I work on my desktop. I don't watch TV when I am at the computer even though I can multi-task. Besides they are not in the same room anyway. I am not a TV fanatic so I only watch those programs I like. And if I like those, I prefer to give it my full attention.

I have a laptop here for my personal use and planning to buy a desktop for my kids. I usually do my internet stuff inside my room at the same time my kids watches tv and I also take a peek from time to time.

hello, XD, Yes, I have television and PC in the same room. Every now and then I'll glance at the T.V. or watched for a while if the program catch my interest. But usually, especially, when I am too busy and I have more things to do, I can't watched T.V. even if I'd like to. So, I also missed most programs and very rare to watched even though it was in the same room. My sister brought her laptop every weekend and I can used it any time I want as long as she finished using it. XD

Hi Kylie! so both TV and desktop being in the same room is not of much use. I was thinking that I would have also done the same way as you did had they been in the same room.
