Nope, I don't have a cell phone that has service. But I have on the other hand turned off the ringer on my phone on many occasions becasue it rung off the hook and I was gfroever getting interuppted and never had time to do what I was supposed to do. I have also turned on the answering machine with a message that I am home but otherwise occupied..some might have dirty minds and think what they may but it works for me..lol

I have rarely turn off my cell as only the really important people in my life have the number. I have been known to unplug the house phones though. If my cell is going crazy for no good reason I just scan the calls and cal the people back that leave a message that is important.

Yep, we have had to do that a couple of times. Most recently, we had to shut it off because we had to cut back on some of our expenses and cell phones weren't a necessity.

You should switch off your mobile phone if the following mathes your environment:
1.If you are in areas which have no mobile towers and the quality of reception is very low. This is because, when the reception power is low, more power from battery is used causing high radiation.
2. If the weather conditions are poor like lightning, thunderstorms.
3. If you are at a gasoline station

I would do that. shut off my phone especially if I'm doing something important and would not want to be disturbed. Sometimes you just need total silence.

Me and my boyfriend had cell phones for a long time, I have had one for the last 7 years. lately things have gotten tough so we have cut back on some extras and one of those was to get rid of the cell phones and get a house phone. I hated it at first cause Id think well lets just call and find out (if we were out or something) but its been a few months and now I actually like not having the cell phone cause we can just get away when we want to and we dont have to worry about anything coming up cause someone needs us and they all know all we have is a house phone so if they dont get ahold of us then they know we are not home and we will call back later lol. it took awhile but we got used to it and yes when I had my cell off before when we had it there would be a million people calling me to find out why it was off or if I happened to not answer then they would just call back a million times till I did cause they knew I always had my phone on me.

I would if I could get away with it but, if someone who can normally reach me on my cell get's voicemail, they usually call the house phone, followed by calling my husband's cell and my daughters' phones until the mystery of why I can't be reached is solved. I have told my kids not to call me at work and my husband and I usually talk at lunch but I get business calls throughout the day so I'm actually on call in some form 24/7.
