I also like anime, games and manga. I usually just go and read mangas I like as well as watch what I get interested in or what some of my friends might recommend me watching. I wouldn't mind cosplaying though but, I just can't afford the materials to construct a costume of a particular anime character. I also don't try hard to collect things related to the animes that I watch. If I can, I'll just buy it but not on intentions of collecting.

I had watched a Japanese movie not long ago about a man who become otaku. It's actually a romantic comedy where the man fell in love with the lady whose he didn't know her name and trying to change himself from being otaku in his effort to attract her. He's kinda nerd and stupid but clever.

I love anime and manga. I do go to anime conventions and cosplay some of the characters. There is even a world cosply competion based on the craftmanship of the costume. I love cosplaying for the fun of it and the pride I have when I make a realy great costume.

ouch...you hit a spot there... i actually cosplay. i don't think something's wrong with that and i also don't think that's being a die hard fan of something. i don't read mangas though.
i just love dressing up. that's basically it. but that doesn't mean i'm an otaku.

Woops! Maybe I've mistaken that. Each of us like and want to try a different things! Like you, you like cosplay but me not. What I want is a real explanation of otaku. Did they really a very fondness type of these kinda things. Anyway, I appreciate your comment.

That's why I'm so broke!! I spend too much money on anime DVDs and manga. Cosplaying is a different matter altogether. I don't think I'd ever be able to pull this off. It would be pretty fun though, if I had the courage to do it.
