Wrong spelling, grammar, or just stupid errors. Is it ok?

What do you feel when you have finished typing a rather long post or response, hit the submit button immediately, and then when you read it again, you noticed you got a few or a lot of wrong spelling or grammar? Would you care to write another post in that discussion to correct it? Sometimes I feel stupid when I see wrong spelling or obvious grammatical errors in my posts. Is there a way to edit the already submitted post?

When I start a new discussion I will always preview and edit before I finally submit it. Even so I may miss an error. I don't worry about it and I never bother to preview my responses, so they do sometimges show typing errors. I don't like to make mistakes but if I do I really don't think it matters at myLot.
If I see a discussion post or response which has typing errors or bad grammar or incorrect spelling, I don't think the person who posted is stupid, I think that maybe English is not their first language or they are in a rush to reply or that they are not experienced in typing on a keyboard.
When writing and submitting articles for publication it is important for it to be submitted without any errors. Posting in myLot does not need the same attention to detail, as long as the post can be understood by other people.

I think it is very very common. And it is nothing to be worried about, because almost everyone's been there and they can understand. If you want to worry then you should worry about grammar because a lot of times understanding some topics is impossible even if they don't have any typos.

Oh my gosh, I hate it when I do that! For instance, I just misspelled autobiographies. Grr, and there's no way to fix it? Not cool. Oh well. Honestly, in the hour that I've been a member of myLot I've seen several posts and discussions by people who don't speak english fluently, so I figure that as long as people can understand what you're trying to say that's all that matters. It doesn't seem like people are too hung up on grammar and spelling here, which is good.

Yep. thanks for the responses people. Yes we know that people here can understand our post even we misspelled words or grammar. What I'm saying is our feelings about our own post that we know we misspelled something or have used wrong grammar. It's kinda embarrassing to ourselves right? LOL! and funny as well Keep on posting friends!

I always get embarrassed after I find out that I posted a typo. I wish I could edit it out but I can't here. I usually try to comfort myself by hoping that the people reading it will understand what I really meant and not judge me too harshly.

I think it's been an issue here in mylot long before why we can't edit our post once we want to change something but I think its better to leave it like that cause if we can edit what we post it may bring some confusions to some reader once you have edit what they have read earlier.
I think many user can understand things like this. I made a lot of mistake before and but its up to us to make extra precautions the next time we write to avoid this kind of embarrassment.

I used to care a lot if I made any errors and I used to preview my response and make sure I had no mistakes before I posted it. But I don't do it anymore since I see that there are a lot of people here that make mistakes and it's okay. I can useually read it and understand what there message is they are relaying so it isn't a problem to respond to it. So I don't check my grammer or spelling as often anymore and just trust that I did everything right. Besides that, I look at my screen now when I am typing so I usually catch the error right away. Mylot has helped me to be able to look at the screen instead of the keyboard, just by posting and practice typing, I got better at it now.

I don't think Mylot has an edit function.
It's not spelling or grammar that bother me, I know I spell some words correctly in English that those taught American would consider wrong. I use colour and favourite, you might use color and favorite! Or If I've used the wrong 'there, their or they're Does it really matter as long as we understand the words?
I have a bad habit though of using 'slang' expressions that only some-one familiar with the North of England would understand, and that on re-reading sound really stupid or even arrogant! Then I wish I could edit before too many people start asking me what I really mean.
On some sites, people seem to spend more time criticising how the poster has written something, that they don't answer the question or give an opinion on the post.
When reading other peoples posts most of the time I don't notice the mistakes, unless it's glaringly obvious or some-one corrects it!
To me it's no big deal.

Been there done that before. A couple times i have typed in a response and then after it goes through i realize there is a typo and i figure, oh well cant fix it now. LOL . Its usually comes from having a high typing speed and a slow computer and the computer cant keep up with what i type.

For spelling I use the ABC Check. As for grammar, let her do her own checking. LOL Only kidding. When I read what others write I never check or look at the grammar. I feel that when folks write in a situation like MyLot they are writing to friends or soon to be friends. I am more interested in what they have to say then in how they say it. There had been times that I have not expressed myself because I felt I did not know the correct way to say something. Then I started to notice that not all of the answers or questions were perfect and this gave me the courage to write. So say it or spell it anyway you want, but please say it.

I do that sometimes, I either misspell a word or leave a word out because I get to typing too fast. Once you've hit that post response button you can't take it back and fix it. Unless you want to write your whole response over again. I've tried to see if I could fix it, and theres no way to, like I said unless you want to write it over again. Yeah, it makes me feel goofy, when I do that...lol.

I do the same thing sometimes, but then I realize that people will figure it out. The only thing that is worse is the fact that you cannot edit once submitted, because there are times when I would like to add or correct a piece of information once posted...because not everyone reads all the responses and may get the wrong idea.
But life happens yanno.

i do not think there is a way for us to edit posted messages. but, dont fret. people will not criticize you on how you typed the message. or, if there are people like that, let them be. what is more important is the message that you are trying to convey.
Good day!
