First the story: I am not a big cola drinker, when I buy pop I ususally buy either ginger ale or lemon-lime pop like 7up. However, I worked for a short time at an airplane part production plant, at this job I was exposed to all kinds of bad chemicals every shift. The material that we worked with was "impregnated" with gross chemicals. Anyway, while I was working there I found that about halfway through many of my shifts I would get an overwhelming craving for Pepsi, like so bad that a couple times I lied and said I was going to the bathroom and I went to the break room and bought a bottle of Pepsi from the vending machine and just stood there and drank it. One time another employee saw me and asked me what I was doing so I told her "I just needed a Pepsi so bad" and she said "Yeah that happens to me here too." Weird huh? Now for the question: Do you think that there could be something in the Pepsi that was somehow counter acting the toxic chemicals that I was exposed to or something and that was why I was craveing it so much? It's especially wierd because it's not the kind of pop I would ususally drink.

Hi! Im not an expert or anything but I just want to say that I do get that way sometimes but not with Pepsi. Mine is Coca Cola. You're not a big Pepsi drinker but you do drink sometimes right? Im not a big fruit eater either but for the past month Ive been craving avocadoes. My craving is not that accesible and when I started to crave it it was not in season so no way that I could sneak off to the market and buy one. What Im trying to say is that there are just those times that we tend to crave things that we dont usually crave. I guess our palate is just looking for variety when it comes to what we usually eat or in this case drink. On your case, maybe you guys were just tired or maybe would always be parched because of the work environment that you just needed a cool drink or something. If you think that those chemicals that you were exposed to are really having an effect on you and the others you should tell someone about it. Maybe go to the resident counselor or something. Hope that helps. Dont worry you're not alone with this kind of craving. Goodluck and have a nice day.^_^

Oh, well the company and everyone knows the chemicals are bad, they just don't care, there was a big lawsuit over the same chemicals and people getting cancer and stuff in the USA with Boeing, which is one of the companies that this plant makes parts for, Boeing won the lawsuit because they had more money to spend on lawyers and stuff (obviously) then the ex-workers that were sueing them.

Woah! Im sorry to hear that. Then I guess in a perfect world the company should be liable for the safety and welfare of their workers. They should be under intense inspection for anything that can be harmful to the health. Maybe you should get that craving checked out. One can never be too sure nowadays..
