I hope that mylot.com dose not remove remove my topic just because I post this comment. I think that mylot.com should add spell check to thair script. I know that spelling is something that we all should be able to do by now. But when you are typing fast and not really looking for spelling errors it would be nice. I know that sometimes I do have spelling errors even after I preview my posting and don't see them until after I post my comment. I am not trying to tell anyone how to run things, it is just a request on my part. What do you think?

If you were to use a firefox internet browser, probably you would not face this problem. When you use firefox, you would, whether it is myLot or any other text editor, find spell check feature come in to use.If you mistype a word, immediately a red underline appears on the word, by seeing which you can make a correction.

I will have to check firefox. I have used it in the past but I keep removing it and going back to internet exployer. Don't ask me why. LOL! I do have it on a flash drive that I use on other people's computer. I guess that it is because microsoft is what it first started using or maybe because I have stock in microsoft.

I think you might want to consider using the popular Firefox browser that comes with an in-built spell checker.

Yea, if someone is on a public computer AND no Firefox is provided (), that person can't have spell check.
I am not sure if it is a small thing for myLot to add. I am concerned that it would add a considerable load on server resources - you already know how slow myLot can get sometimes...

Granted, yes, I could use Firefox browser, but what about the people that are unable to use or even install it. Like the people that are using public computer in cyber cafe (internet cafe) or library that do not allow download and instilling software. It was be just as easy to add spell check to a site. I have a spell check on my Free Web Community (url is in my profile). Like I said before, I am not trying to tell anyone what to do or how to run a site. It is just what I think.

You know James, that is a great idea! I rarely answer questions here if the spelling is so poorly that I cannot figure out what the author is really talking about! I am not sure that they are typo's or if they just don't know how to spell!

LOL! I know what your talking about. I looked at a post today and I could not figure it out to save my life. I think the post was something about 50 cent. After reading it like 6 times it looked to me like he was just trying to get people to give home $0.50. I don't know how some people think sometimes. Before coming to mylot, I thought is was just because I am blonde.

I'm also in favor of creating a spelling check system but I'm afraid it will lower the efficiency of Mylot. Actually not so many mistake are made and the mistakes do not really matter. They just cannot be obstacles in reading. If creating a spelling check system won't hurt efficiency, I fully support it.
I wonder have I made mistakes above..

Both my browsers of choice, Firefox and Flock, has spell check built in, so I wouldn't really care if Mylot implemented it or not. Everyone should just download Firefox and the interweb will be a better place. Or at the very least a more legible place. Or something.

Well I am glad you have a choice, but as I said before, some people that use public computers don't have a choice of browsers. I just thank that Spell checker should be part of the choice. I am not telling anyone to change the way they do things.

its a good idea , i also thought of this long time back, spell check in mylot will be very good.
But here you to observe one thing that with spell check it will take more time to submite a Discussion or to responce for a discussion.
As it has to go to each and every line and correct the spelling , i hope u got it, I really fell good about the spell check but if it is slow then we go mad right.
Just think of how much time will that take to make things right.

Your suggestion is good but I don't care about it. I post here just for express my own opinion to ohters. When I type my words I often make error but I think most of us can read the main meaning of my post because some errors are not influent the understanding of the meaning I want to express.

Hello cyberopjames.
I think it is a great suggestion for myLot to add the capacity to do spell checks on our posts. I, too, am a stickler about spelling. Yet, I type so quickly, especially on myLot so I can complete several posts, that I still make typos that I don't catch.
Later, when I see them, if I'm going back to review a myLot discussion, I feel irritated and embarrassed. I definitely agree with you on this one, cyberopjames.

I would love for them to add Spell Check and, I don't think you will get into any trouble. I think they welcome discussions on helpful tips and suggestions. I think they have taken things that we have talked about here in the past and added them because they saw that we would like them. For example, the Smilies. That wasn't originally here when I first got here 4 or 5 months ago and, it was added because people were hoping they would.
So, I wouldn't worry about getting into trouble. I think that myLot appreciates some input. And, you might even toss an email their way suggesting it. It couldn't hurt.

I know that I should not get in to trouble with mylot. I try to follow the guidelines to the letter. I don't like being in the dog house. For the most part I like mylot. At first I came here to make alittle money. But with time I have made alot of friends.

I think that people should just use Mozilla Firefox and the spell checker on there as it will benefit them on mylot and many other website where you have to post a lot of text.

Like I have stated before, some people use public computers and are unable to download or install another web browser or plugins. Why would you force someone to use a browser or limit them to a browser? Spell check should be a part of any web site that offer posting. It is easy to deply on any website. I own like 4 community sites and each one of them have spell check.

It is not forcing people to use on browsers it is letting people know that that facility is available on that browser and if that feature is seen as popular then the other browsers will copy it, so that they become popular too just as IE copied tabbing from Mozilla Firefox.

I always thought my spelling was pretty good til I got on mylot. I have mixed feelings about spellcheck. If they added it,it might help some people but there's alot of people on here that have some major spelling problems, and I don't think the spellcheck would be able to figure the word they ment to use? I know they are trying to improve thier english. I always try to edit my comments before I submit them!

I agree with that. not all of us came from same place to understand what others really trying to say. so everyone will be responsible to correct the spelling.. right?
