Splitting Perennials...How do I get them home?

Tiger Lily - Splitting Perennials...How to?

We are having a street sale this week and I was thinking about splitting some of my hostas, lilies, etc and selling them. I split some 2 weeks ago and repotted them with the thought of selling them this weekend but they don't appear to be doing very well. The sale is tommorow, is there any way that I can split some more of my plants and then sell them bare root without replanting them into pots for the people? What is the best way to keep them alive without replanting them in pots? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Simply soak some paper towels in water...wrap around roots, then cover with saran wrap, wrapping so the water doesn't leak out...and secure at the top of the root with tape, elastic band, or string! Keep them cool until ready to sell! HAPPY sale, wish I was there! Just love Hosta's and they are expensive to buy...so don't give them away! Rainbows!

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll be sure to try it tomorrow. Thanks again...
