I love tomatoe sandwiches. But only in the summer, when I have fresh tomatoes, not store bought. Then I could eat about a 1000, during the summer.
When I was growing up,we had tomatoe fields all around. So I got all the good tomatoes I wanted.I would just wash them and eat them with a salt shaker,or make me a tomatoe sandwich.
Bread,lots of mayo,salt and pepper,and a couple slices of fresh tomatoe.mmmmmmm...

I thought I was the one who made up tomato sandwiches! I have been eating these since I was a little kid. I take white bread, toast it slightly so it is warm, slather it in mayonnaise, salt and tomato slices. Yummmy yummy! But now there is a salmonella scare here in the United States, so bummer for me - no tomato sandwiches for awhile... :(

Well I sure hope you're not eating tomatoes lately...I love tomatoes too, but have you heard about his salmonella outbreak found in tomatoes, and they can't pinpoint the source...great...NOT

I adore sun-dried or sun-blushed tomatoes over the regular fresh kind. Especially with pesto and chicken in a sandwich. Mmm heaven!
Sounds like you've found your perfect summer sandwich though!

I love eating tomato straight from the vine, particularly if they are a little warm from the sun. A spot of salt intensifies the falvour. Delicious!
I'm not so keen on tomato sandwiches though. the tomato makes the bread go soggy, and I really don't like soggy bread. I'd rather eat the two seperately.
