Have You Ever Googled Yourself?

Have you ever Googled your real name? Or any of the user names or member names you use? You might be surprised at what you find.
Have you ever done a Google alert on yourself or someone about whom you wanted to keep track?
I first Googled my own name when I had written for a few web sites (for pay) about 9 years ago. Sure enough, my articles showed up. But I also discovered quite a few people with the exact same name. Oddly enough, each one was creative or artistic in some way - another writer, a sculptor, a painter. There was also one who was very involved in ministry and volunteer activities.
I have regular Google alerts on my sister, who is a sr. vice president for a large firm. Usually those alerts don't give me information on her. They'll be about some actor with the same last name or some minor sports figure.
But I did get an alert that was a great picture of her at a meeting in Japan. And just the other day an alert came in that was a large stock transfer she had made. She had no idea this would show up on the Internet!
So how about you? Have you Googled your real name or user names lately? Do you use the Google alert system?

yes i tried that too, i tried to type my name search for anything and it showed up the articles i wrote on some sites, my blogs are not all listed since i don't use my fullname in my blogs and instead a pen name.
i saw some information regarding other people that has the same name as mine, some are singers and others are celebrities.

I have done this before.
My English name return nothing,
but my Chinese name appear to be a boss of toy factory in China.
If I search my net name,
of course it will return my blog and thread I posted in forum before.

I am not that important. (I have a cousin who is a preacher and we get a form letter every Christmas on how well they did: I must remember to write them and tell them of my singing solo at the Easter Concert.) but I found that I had some letters or articles that I wrote under my real name, and I found some of myLot discussions here. I have not searched under my other aliases, but I am sure that some will show up and by the way, they were on the first page.
I do not use the alert system, do not need to.

The only thing I found was a adhesion quilt that I had signed on. Other than that there was nothing. Same thing when I typed in my sisters name there was nothing on her.

Yes, of course. It's an ego trip. But in doing so, I also found a lot of sites that stole my content and work ... so that was good because I was able to expose them for what they were.

I have tried several times and I have not found anyone who have the same name exactly as my name. Some same name and some we have the same family name..LOL

Yes, I have done just that. I found a model/actress/reality TV participant from the Philippines who in all ways is the polar opposite of me, mostly physically (darn it all!) I have also found things I wrote in response to blog entries over 2 years ago that I had forgotten about completely. With my various user names, I have found that I am not alone in one of them - in fact, one of them lives in the same state as me, which makes sense since she's also a Jerzgirl.
With my maiden name, I found and actress/vocal coach/crew assistant in Hollywood, a college dean/professor, a British author and an up and coming comedienne.
If what I found is any indication, maybe I'd have had better success in life if I hadn't changed my name when I got married!!

Yeah, I didn't find anything on myself for a long time. Then, one day, I found my name on the wrestling roster for our school's web page. It amazes me the little stuff Goigle picks up.

Yeah i have. It is amazing the things you can find out about you from googling your name. Its really kind of freaky.
