I was told to just leave it alone. Most creams that treat acne are too harsh for a babies sensitive skin. My daughter had baby acne on and around her nose. It went a way by itself after a few weeks. Also, as tempting as it is, you're not supposed to try to pop them either. Not that I would imagine any baby would let you pop their zits without crying big time. :o)

My son has had this since infancy and the only thing that was ever recommended (besides leaving it be) was to use Nivea cream on it. But that doesn't help, he still has it on his arms no more on his face, back or chest. He's nine now and I don't want this plaguing him his whole life.

Yeah, fortunately all of our clients are Dermatologists or Plastic Surgeons', so it'll be handled as soon as I decide to take him to a dermatologist, just thought I'd try and save a copay first, lol. :) Thanks so much for your response.

Hum....well, I guess the only think you can do is to take him to a dermatologist. Since he isn't a baby but he's not a teen yet, he can probably handle some creams. But that is such a young age to have acne already. You may want to get his skin checked for any possible skin conditions. Maybe it's something that is easily treatable, but if it isn't, you should definitely try to find out now before he does enter his teen years.

Try using sensitive soap during bathtime. If the 'acne' is on arms or legs, you could try using sensitive wipes to gently wipe down each night. Or try Aquaphor ointment.

Thank you for your comments, I hadn't thought about using wipes, that's a great idea! :)

My daughter had egsima and her doctor gave me a cream for it. If it really concerns you that much ask your peditrician, let them know how long it has been going on and how often. They may have a cream for it, or a mild soap specifically for baby acne since it is very common.

Thank you I didn't realize it was so common, that's the one thing my pediatrician never told me. But I'm comforted in that knowledge, thank you. :)

Baby acne is extremely common, and generally goes away on its own. As someone already said, don't put any sort of medication on it. And don't overdo on washing the baby's face, that can make it worse.

My son as an infant had it a little bit on his face, but he has always had sensitive skin so I never did anything, we've always used hypoallergenic soaps, etc. I really just don't want this to be a confidence issue for him later in life. Thank you for your comments :)
