I do. I came to the point of my life where my boss fired me for being inefficient as what he said. Well, at that time, I have to attend to my 2 little kids who are sometimes sick and of course I'll be absent from my work often.
I was so depressed at that time knowing whatis next to do. But then life must go on and I was able to find another job. Well, it is a hurting experience when you have to choose between your job and you kids.
Did you experience the same thing? How did you handle it? It is tough...

I recently got 'let go' from the job I had wanted for two years. I had only been there for nearly a month and my boss turned around and said she's found someone more mature and reliable to replace me. It really upset me because only a few days before she was telling me how comfortable she felt having me there and how well I was doing.
It's only a small shop, run by a mother and daughter and the daughter designs some of the clothes they sell. I really enjoyed it so I'm very upset about it, however it did inspire me to start designing my own clothes to sell so hopefully that will work out for me!

Oh yeah, sometimes things work out to be blessing in disguise. The turning of events sometimes hurt us but we don't know that it is God's plan for us to have a good life. If he close one door He would open another. That's what my motto is. God knows best. good luck.

I have never been fired from my work. Actually, I am still in the company I was with eight years ago. I have never experienced choosing between my job and my kids. That is because I do not have kids yet. But I do have a co-employee who almost lost her job just because she had to go home early for an emergency that involved her son. I remember her crying when she was given a memo by our boss. She felt really bad and that whenever she remembers what happened a couple of years ago, she still feels bad about what our boss did to her. She even said that if ever she lost her job that time, she wouldn't regret what she did because she knew she did the right thing.

I'm sure that boss will also experience the same feeling someday. It is the golden rule. that Whatever you do to others, it will be done unto you too. the meployee is reasonable because it is the life of her kid.

well i've never been fired from my place of employment, but i think i know what you must have felt. because i had to choose my family and my priorities in life over my job. it was really demanding. and after i left i felt that maybe it wasnt the wisest decision i could have made. and like you said, i too felt depressed. and even more so when i could'nt find a job until almost 5 months.i did'nt have any income.it was tough trying to cope with the situation.i just tried to be positive and be closer to my family..but now i feel a lot better since i have a job and ...what can i say, maybe things happen for a reason huh? but yeah, it is a really bad feeling; one i would not want to feel again.

I haven't been fired yet, thank goodness, but I'm always prepared for that eventuality juuuust in case. I'm sorry that that happened to you, OP. It's awful when a boss won't be understanding about your situation with kids. Had there been any part-time choices you could do instead, or a different job in the same company? Usually bosses can find SOMETHING for you to do.
It is tough being without a job though- that I can definitely sympathize with. I'm glad you got a job after that. It can be scary being jobless with no prospects; I had to experience that earlier this spring for two months before I finally landed something.
