has anyone ever published their own book?

I have written a couple of books. Then, I sell them to the publisher, who takes care of printing and publishing. Let's say, I am an author, not a publisher. Have a nice day !

I've gone the POD way with the last 2 books I've written. There is a lot of work involved that way; type setting, cover design, and so forth. I have found it to be rewarding and not bad considering my first book sold about 450 copies. I've just completed my 3rd book and will go the POD route but at the same time looking around here for a literary agent as I have plans and story lines for 2 novels I will be working on in the future.
