expectant moms and brachial plexus palsy

i gave birth last valentine's to a beautiful baby girl she weighed 9.6 lbs. and delivered her thru normal spontaneous delivery.. hours after we noticed that her left arm was not moving. i said to myself, something's wrong here... a week later on her first check up, the pediatrician informed me it was called brachial plexus palsy. this birth injury was the result of my daughter being too big and delivered normally. the nerves on her arm got stretched. she said i should have considered c-section to avoid this. she also added that in most cases, the arm would heal by itself in 3-4 months but depending on the severity of the injury, some cases surgery/physical therapy is the only option. thank God now that she's 3 months, she can now raise her arm.. but worry got the best of me and this could have been avoided if i only knew the consequences of eating too much while pregnant. MOMS TO BE, BE CAREFUL AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK OR INFORM YOUR OB-GYN ABOUT CERTAIN COMPLICATIONS RELATED TO YOUR PREGNANCY.

Glad to know that she is fine now, take good care of her. I think in the first place your doc. should have advise you before you give birth to her. Usually in our place here our doc will tell us if the baby is too big and give us some advice.
