Cat-lover but never had a cat

Hi! I love cats but the thing is I've never had a cat in my whole life. When I was younger, I used to 'adopt' my neighbor's cat so I fed it and cared for it. I even knew all the cats' hobbies and peculiarities. But the cat still sleeps at his master's house. So I never really had any experience having a cat inside our own place.
I love cats because they're the pets that I notice, and I'll definitely pick them first over dogs, birds, fish or any other pets. If I'm at a friend's house who has lots of cats, I play with them. If I have my own place, I swear I'll have my own cat too.
How about you guys? Anyone among you who loves cats but never had one you'll call your own?

Our persian cat just gave birth to seven lovely kittens. But they are cross bred with stray cat. The mother's color is orange while the father is black and white. So the color of the kittens are mixed, some orange, some black, while some are spotted. I hope they will all look like persian cat so they will all look cute haha. :-)

I'm glad you didn't get mad that your persian breed got pregnant by a stray cat. I know someone who was mad enough to act haughty to his cat!

I have had many cats. I am not an indoor cat person though I prefer my feline to be outside. I love other peoples cats I just don't want one inside my house. I have two big tom cats (both neutered)that live outside I love them but I don't want them in my house getting on my counters and spraying everywhere. Just can't handle that.

Your cats probably love roaming outside then! But don't they try to sneak in? I bet they do. But please don't freak out, they don't mean it and they're just curious to see what's up inside your house.

We bring Ghost (the smaller of the two boys) in and love on him then he goes back out. Andre used to run in the house a lot but now he spends more time in one of our neighbors garage (he is in love with thier dog) than he does at home. Fortunatly the neighbors adore him, Everyone knows Andre. So while we foot the bill for his upkeep he is essentially the neighborhood cat.

I've been around cats ever since I was a little girl and have had cats for as long as I remember. I'll likely have cats til the day I die, not that I mind. At least, there will be beings who accept me. Two years ago, I've adopted two cats from a shelter and taken one in from a family who was unable to keep her and a stray cat. I also feed two strays.

If I can have my own cat, I'll adopt one from the shelter too. Though I don't mind feeding stray cats at the moment.

Yes, I know some people who have the same approach. They build nice cat-houses for their cats outside though. The cats seem to enjoy this as they get to roam around as much as they like. But being cats, they are curious and would still sneak inside the house given the chance. Sneaky, yes but still funny and loveable because that's how a cat will perfectly behave.
