MOVIE TICKETS.. Are they quite expensive?

My best friend works at a movie theatre where she gets unlimited movies for herself and a guest, so I see movies at least once or twice a week. Yay for friends who have jobs with good perks! ;)

Even though ticket prices are expensive, you have to realize that theaters make little money from ticket sales. They make all of their money from food and drink sales.

I think movie tickets are expensive but I like to watch movies in cinema. Buy DVDs to watch movies at home maybe cheap but I think it can't show the really video to me.

It matters to me, because there have been times when I have gone to the movies and wlaked out frustrated because i thought it sucked and I basically flush $10+ dollars down the drain...and i don't know if that is even the current prices because I have not been to a theater in ages. I would rather rent movies and if I like it I could always buy them. Also, I have satelittle and subscribe to Starz. The way costs are rising and getting out of control it is senseless to pay that amount of money for a mere 2 hours of a movie you can rent within the next year. But I do agree that some are better on the big screen. And when I can afford it I may buy a big screen TV for my movies.

I only go to the movies at our independent theater where tickets are about $6. I also only go to matinee shows because the other ticket prices are too much. I guess I'm cheap, but I just don't have the money that I used to. I get excited about going to the movies on opening weekend, but sometimes I get disappointed because I paid a lot of money and the movie was terrible.

I enjoy going to the movies, but the tickets are just ridiculous nowadays.
