Is it just me or are the people of the UK becoming more and more ill mannered, bad tempered and well, just downright rude? I went on a shopping trip today to go and buy some new clothes. This doesn't happen often as I hate it when it's too busy and usually buy clothes online or from catalogues. Anyway as I said I went shopping today in Aberdeen and couldn't believe how miserable and mean everyone looked (and acted). People literally slam doors in your face, walk straight into as if you weren't even there and tut loudly if you have the audacity to be walking in front of them. I have loads more to say about this but have to go and phone my mum in Cyprus right now. I would love to hear from people from other towns and cities to find out what people are like when out shopping there. More later folks.

I agree. Even people who nowadays would be considered as well-mannered, I find rude.
For instance, it's now thought of as polite to bark "EXCUSE ME!!!" at someone, even though most people don't bother and just barge past you....but, not so long ago, that barking out "EXCUSE ME!!!" without a "please", would have been considered the height of bad manners.
I just don't think most people in the UK care any more, and without wishing to offend any particular group of people, sadly I find those currently aged in their 20s and 30s to be the worst culprits.
Everyone seems so very stressed-out too, and unable to let a little something pass by un-commented on, such as you walking (usually by accident) into another person's path.
Wake up Britain!!!!!!!! You have gone to the dogs!!!
Thanks for raising this subject, as it's so very sad that we have lost our British identity of politeness, courtesy, good manners.
