If in case you were offered a job with a higher pay and better benefits in another company, what will be the reasons that you will gonna stick with the company you are employed right now? For me, I would say the people that I work with everyday which became my second family and the good boss that knows how to appreciate even small good things that his subordinates did to company. What about yours?

I took a career break last year from a company which in general terms had ok pay, but the workload and unnecessary BS was not comparable to that wage. Also i'd been gradually losing interest as it no longer gave me any job satisfaction. Manifested as being bad for my health too.
I never went back.
Instead i joined a company where although the pay is less i feel a lot better both physically and mentally. The work is enjoyable and gives me great job satisfaction.
I have since been offered more than my original job from another company, but turned it down as i like where i am. Whilst money helps survival, particularly in this economic climate, it isn't everything. Health and happiness are just so.

Congratulations for taking the risk of losing a higher paying job. Yes, I agree with you that it is not just monetary that is necessary. Better enjoy your work, the company of your colleagues, stay healthy, stay away from the Big BS, and have a great time while working. Enjoy what you do best!

While it is nice to stick around people you work well with and have a boss that is appreciative and easy to deal with, such things can change over night. Companies reorganize, promotions are made, people move/switch jobs. All of this can come unannounced. Within a month your great work environment can change to a place you hate. That's the reason why I would not take my current work environment into account. I may find the same conditions at the new place.
My first consideration would be a monetary one. Higher pay and better benefits is certainly a plus. However, if my commute is longer milewise and/or timewise, the higher pay is quickly eaten up by transportation costs and time wasted on travel. If I would have to move, is my new living area more expensive?
My second consideration would be a personal one. If my family is well established and happy in the community we are in, a move is probably not something I would consider right now. School districts are another consideration in that matter. Also, the impression I got of the new work environment is important. For example, if you are used to blue-jeans and relaxed wear and now have to be dressed up and not just business casual, it may be a downer. Same, if you didn't get the impression that people were that happy at the new company it may not be a place for you. How is set up? Would you like your new surroundings, and job tasks. If I would see great negatives, then I would have a major problem.

Very good insight on what considerations to make before making a good decision. Yes, in this times quick changes happen into an organization as I have experienced the same from a multinational company. Thank you very much for sharing your views on this matter.
