Has there ever been a time when a cat scared you badly?

I love cats, but Marlo took the cake. He was one fierce kitty who was in constant attack mode. If I got too close to him, he acted as if he was going to jump in my face. I couldn't talk to him or touch him. Neither could the people who tried to pass him off on me. In fact, the woman said that Marlo kept her up practically all night.
I've never, ever been frightened by a cat before, and just thank God that I didn't try to get closer to Marlo. He would have mauled me but good.

He was probably more scared than you were. His whole world was turned up-side-down, poor boy. He was stuffed into a carrier and plopped out in a totally strange environment. I'm glad you weren't hurt. And I'm glad he's going to someone he knows. This is a very sad situation.

I know, and I think his problems are just beginning. The friend who was supposed to take him had a heart attack and is in the hospital. The people who took him back from me still want to have that friend take Marlo, as Marlo knows him and seems to get along with him. Now that the friend is in the hospital, who knows what will happen? I was told yesterday that Marlo is terrorizing everyone, even the couple's cat!
I suggested that the couple ask a few vets if anyone would like to give Marlo a good home. The husband told me that he will do everything he can and that he will never take Marlo to a shelter.
My other cats are recooperating from Friday night's fiasco with Marlo. My Columbus, who is 11 years old, has found another sleeping place, while my Waffles cat just can't seem to relax.

That sounds like a good idea, which I will mention to that couple when I see them this week. The wife already complained that she only got 2 hours of sleep on Friday night. She didn't say so, but she's ticked off at her husband for trying to do the right thing by Marlo. For my part, I would go back to the original owner's neighborhood and ask if someone could house Marlo for the time being. That way, the original owner would still get to see his cat. He misses that cat a lot. Well of course! He owned the cat for 9 years.
