We went to Laughlin NV, which is at the boarder of Nevada and Arizona on the Colorado River. Laughlin has several casinos. We stayed two nights at Harrah’s Casino, which was very nice. The room was huge with a king size bed. The television was a flat screen, which was four feet across. I have never watched a TV that large. We where on the 9th floor and never heard anyone in the other rooms.
We walked alone the river and came to a pond between two casinos that were loaded with coy fish they where about between 18 to 24 inches in length. I have not seen coy so big. There where hundreds of them. I snapped a few photos of them in the water. There was some carp or catfish alone the docks wanting people to feed them also they where as big if not bigger then the coy. The carp where dark green or dark brown with whiskers that is why I do not know if they where cat fish or carp because of the whiskers. We did not feed the fish.

Beautiful :) I love koi carp, we used to keep them in one of our garden ponds. We had one ground level pond for frogs and things, and one raised pond for our fish. They're beautiful creatures. I would love to travel to Japan and see them in a traditional Japanese garden. It is possible that the fish looking to be fed were catfish; koi whiskers are not very long and they tend not to be very dark in colour.

The whiskers where not long and they where lighter in colored like the bellies of the fish were. There was a man fishing who caught one while we stood and watched. He let it go after he caught it. I snapped a photo when it was laying on the beach. I will post it for you.

Thanks for the information. I have never had a coy pond. I have a swimming pool but would not like the work of a coy pond.
I do like to visit them at someone elses home. hahaha
to me the fish was big.
I collect teapots so I know what it to be picky of the type of fish you want or the colors you want.

Oh, it may be a Chagoi koi, they're an icky green colour like the one in the picture and they are really brave so they would crowd around like you described. I've never kept then myself, purely because they're not that pretty, i'm that fish superficial. The one in your picture doesn't look very large though, they grow pretty big.

I went to the Luxor in Las Vegas in April. We saw the lions at MGM studios they were pretty cool. We did not go to
the Mandalay bay aquarium which was nearby. I love Las Vegas and Laughlin both.

I love them both for different reasons. I felt that they where closing things up early at laughlin. Harrah's did not have Keno going 24 hours a day. The water taxie on the river only ran till 10 pm instead of the 1am like before. We did not have much traffic at all. The economy has taken a big chunk out of vactions and gambling.
We only paid 28 dollars a night for the room.
I loved that.
