Mylot running slowly? Do a virus scan

I have been reading a lot of discussions on mylot running slowly and I have had that experience a few days ago. It was intolerably slow and at first I blamed my internet connection but I decided to do a virus scan instead which uncovered 15 threats of different kinds. Instantly, my computer became responsive again and I had the thought that mylot might have caused it. I kept on using mylot without incident so I could not blame mylot for it. What I suspect is this, I joined a ptc site 2 days before and have been clicking on ads for 2 days. That was when the slowdown started and I strongly suspect that the ptc site was putting malware on my computer, a trojan horse perhaps which was using my computer for its activities. What do you think?

well of cousre a site having 130k+ users cant be responisble for viruses, its just those little websites which are not genuine that cause computer crashes

You're right, Mylot does have a lot of users and more keep coming in everyday. I sometimes think that maybe it does give their servers a real hard job crunching those posts and keeping them ordered. Thanks.
