Christmas is about 2 months away. Its that time of the year when most of us celebrate(christians) or at the very least enjoy the holidays(most others). Was wondering what do you love about christmas? What do you hate about christmas? What does Chrismas mean to you?

I love getting together with my family and having all the good food. I also love decorating with my kids and going out to look at all the Christmas lights on Christmas Eve with them while listening to Christmas Carols. The thing I probably hate the most about Christmas is how is has become so materialistic. Christmas is about spending time with the family and celebrating the birth of Jesus not getting shoved around at a store the day after Thanksgiving trying to get the Elmo TMX doll.

hmm i agree with you being with friends and family is wat makes christmas what it is .decorating the tree used to be fun when we were kids. But dont you think more often than not the source of joy involves physical objects??hmm the joy of giving .....

I do enjoy the spirit of giving. I think it is an awesome feeling, however when it comes to people pushing and shoving and physically getting hurt in order to get that one particular toy that is a bit too much. It takes the joy out of the season. I am generally a pretty considerate person but I absolutely hate going shopping during the Christmas season because it is like everyone there has turned into a grouch.

I love decorating the tree and wrapping the packages all fancy. Making christmas cookies and eating them while enjoying the company of friends and family. Oh and can't forget stuffing ourselves silly with all kinds of holiday foods. The things I least like about Christmas is the holiday crowds and even though it's supposed to be a joyous time of year people just get down right mean and rude and you know what I think of mean people don't you ..lol

Jesus - My Personal Savior and Friend
I Love Christmas and being able to spend it with family. Sharing in the togetherness, and just being there to join in the excitement. Christmas is also a Special time as it gives me a time to reflect on Jesus birth, and why he is an important part of my daily life.

I love Christmas!!! It's my favorite time of the year. What it means to me is that it's our Lord and Savior's birthday. If He hadn't have been born, my goodness where would we all be??!!! I also love the way the atmosphere feels during that time. It's a season of rejoicing, giving, and spending time with your loved ones. I'm very, very, very family oriented!!!! I loooooove spending time with my peeps!!!

I believe that the true meaning of Christmas is different for everyone. For some it means spending the Christmas season with family and friends, remembering the birth of Christ, reliving old traditions, or giving service to those in need. I love Christmas! And I believe it's when most people are happy. Yet, I know, there are some that prefer not to celebrate it. Most of these people believe that Christmas is only being celebrated by Peagans. I do hope though, that these parents that do not believe, give their kids the chance to enjoy the holiday!

thanks for responding..... Oh its too bad if some people beleive that chrismas is celebrated by pagans and hence donot let their kids join in on the fun:) But do you really know such people that think so?

it's my favorite time of the year. what i love most about it is the gift giving. i am sure this year it will be most enjoyable because my son is already a year old and he will enjoy a lot..neighbors already started hanging out christmas decors and the first time he saw them he got really excited and blabbered a lot.

love getting together with the family I have left, hate not having my mom around anymore to share christmas with, the holiday use to mean lots to me but not so much anymore without mom. I never understood the Birth of Christ being celebrated by decorating a tree, giving gifts, santa claus, rednosed reindeers and elfs and goofy stuff. So I always just saw it as a time to be with family members I normally never had time to be with due to work and such, and a time to thank our savior for taking time to save us. Anywayz before I get any more melodramatic, I love christmas for spending time with those I love most, hate christmas for becoming such a commercialized st. nick spendofest, and christmas means mostly for me a time to reflect on life so to enjoy what we have spiritually here in our short mortal stay on this rock we call Earth. Good enough? Hope so...

I hate the crowds in the stores, and Christmas means family and God to me. ya sure the church n kids performances are fun .The crowds at stores are a big menace but then i guess huge crowds at the stores actually add to the festive atmosphere though most of us dislike it that way:) since it ends up being a big p[hysical ordeal getting thru shopping:)

have a nice day - have a nice day
Mostly, its for the unending shopping spree, nice gifts, nice clothes and shoes, good food, partying, gatherings and of course, money gift from our god mother and father... Christmas is the time to renew ourselves in the presence of the newborn baby JESUS. Time for a lasting happiness, peace and prosperity for the coming more years in this world.

christmas is a time for family, i love sitting round the tree opening pressies and watching my daughters face light up when she opens the presents she has been asking for for months. putting the tree up is the start of christmas in my house and it is the best time of year. christmas in my house lasts from the beginning of dec to early january.
