Sickness: Is it God's Will?

Hi pastoraguilar, No one really wants to be sick, but it happens to everyone from time to time. Sickness can a way God uses to help us realize that we need Him. We tend to seek God more when we are sick, esp if it is a serious illness. We become more dependant upon Him. I remember hearing a message by Dr Charles Stanley (a pastor who is on tv...InTouch) say that anything that brings you closer to God is good for you and he meant anything! What may seem to be a horrible thing just may be a blessing for us down the road. God sees the entire picure as we can only see so much. God knows the future and He knows what we need to get our attention on Him. It is very important to trust in God in every circumstance of our lives. God is in control and there is nothing that happens to us that He does not know about or control. God bless.

Sickness and health are conditions of this relative realm. God does not administer this realm on a day-to-day basis, rather he has created a system called balance or equilibrium. The universe tends to maintain its balance. When there is an abundance of one then something else gets diminished. It is like the total material of the universe is fixed and trying to get more of one thing takes it away from others.

I don't believe that it is ever God's will that we suffer from any thing. But When it rains it rains on the just as well as the unjust. I think it is the same with sickness, but I also believe that our life style can and does result in certain illness. Sometime an illness will bring a person closer to the Lord.

If any sickness help bring anybody closer to God its indeed a Blessing.I think it is a good stick that God uses to bring some people to God who under any other circumstances wouldn't turn to God. I wouldn't classify all of it as blessing.

Sickness an be G-d's way to force us to go back to the road that's right for us, to repent from our sins.
