today no one stays in one spot for long. whether it be because we are renters or we enjoy selling and buying houses, we keep changing lovers and relationships, we cant afford one place to the next or certain areas, changing jobs or just being a gypsy at heart.
i wish i could have one house, that i owned outright and could always come back to and call it home.
for me i have moved 17 times;
7 times with my parents (building, upgrading etc)
9 times back and forth between my parents and past relationships
1 time to my current home, just me and the kids. im finally happy, but im renting, i hate moving but until i can afford it, i have no choice :-(
how about you?

once when i went to college
then moved back home
and then moved with my parents out to the country (bought property after my mother had a heart attack)
and hopefully one more time in the next year or so....just down the drive on our property when I can afford a home to put there....
I hate moving, as a child my famliy moved a lot...so I try to stay as stable as possible.

when i studied in college, i moved to the freshmen dormitory, on my second yr, i moved in to an all girls dormitory, when i was in my senior yr, i rented an apartment with friends,when i worked i moved in an apartment close to work, i also changed jobs so i also looked for places near my work so all in all i have moved six times while working. i hated packing and unpacking. i think i will move again before the year ends to my own home this time =)

i have changed my home 4 times & the first time I was very small so it was ok. But the 2nd time was the hardest coz i grew up over there & had all my memories associated with the house and the area and we moved after 18 odd years. Stayed in my aunt's house for 6 mths while we hunted for a new house and been here for the last 5 years. I will move back to my childhood suburb a few years later (cant rite now coz its too expensive :)).

I left home at 16 so I moved around quite a bit. Then I settled down and bought the place I'm in now. I have been here over 15 years and yes, it is nice to have a place that is mine. Even when I'm in a long relationship I won't give up my home. I like having the security. It's mine, I earned it and paid for it. And I will always have a roof for my daughter. I would like to move once more, though, into a bigger place as mine is cramped. After that I want to just stay there and grow old.

IN the past 31 years of my marriage, I have moved 26 times and #27 will be this summer. First for following construction jobs and then just trying to find a better and hopefully cheaper place. This summer it will be for a cheaper place. Income is low, prices are high! Birth to marriage, we moved 6 times. No brag, just fact!

with my family, we have moved 1 time. but when i was in college, i moved 6 times for different reasons. one reason was when one of my housemates bailed out on us. then we found another pad near the university so we have to move again. then i moved to a new pad with my ex-girlfriend & moved again when we broke up. the last reason why i moved was i want to live with my friends instead.

My father's job carried us around a fair bit (17 times in 10 years), and I really wish I'd never stopped moving. Since we quit moving for his work, we moved once. Then I moved out to go to school. Then in with my guy. We plan on moving in another year or so.
I love to move and can't wait to move again! I love organizing, finding out that you really don't need half of the stuff you have, cleaning, finding a new place, discovering the new things at the new place. I hope you find your 'home base' soon!
