But not all for just money. People work for money but go the extra mile for recognition, praise and rewards. What is your opinon on this?

Sada
Money is very important in life. We all work to earn money - that's being the basic factor. But when the basic necessities are being met with, we think about our satisfaction. The thing that brings satisfaction varies from person to person.
I work to earn money. Money gives me a power - the power to give it away to the ones who need it the most. And this is my satisfaction.
Thanks.

I get you Sada and I know how old fashioned you are when you narrated your mother's story....You better be old fashioned.
And I am glad that you are.

Yes Sada, I am outdated, my friends even feel that way. But that's me, I donot want to change for the world. It's not taking my soul out. Only keeping it in the right place instead.
Thanks dear.

Working for money is a necessity as the world evolves in a way that you can't live without money. Not many people would try to live in the wild, with no commodities. Pretty soon they would have someone claiming they were invading their land, their property and s/he would be in trouble.
As a personal opinion, finding the "right" job is one of the most difficult tasks in the adult life. No jobs seems to give all one searches for. If you are very interested in a job in the beginning, as time goes on it seems to lose all that that attracted you in the beginning.
Recognition and rewards are things that you won't get for many of the jobs that are active as the society shapes to new technologies and changes. The work done as the boss requires + pay check at the end of the month = the amount of recognition you will get.
I might have a very harsh perspective of things, but at the moment it is what I really think from what I have experienced. Others may be luckier. :)

I very much endorse your views. The point we are trying to drive home is that some section of the population will not be keen on earning money (probably because they have already earned enough) and render services only to earn name and fame. Your point is very much applicable to most people in the world.

I believe the first reason why people look for jobs because they believe that is the only way to earn money. But while we are in our work, we also earn recognition, praise and rewards. Some will like the recognition and praise in their work and some will do their responsibility because of rewards. The truth is in work, we will find money and recognition.

Its nice to have rewards as you say. Iam at your side even. Money is not the end anywhere. If we keep switching jobs, our salay is go high. But finally we should settle somewhere. We should get a feeling that this is a place where i should be. It can be got only if our work is recognised and awarded for that too. Its really tough to get it every year. I try to do something really diff apart from day to day activities which make me special in job. Kudos friend for the discussion. It was a nice one.

One common phenomenon that grips the entire human race is money.. Money.. assumes various needs and shapes to persons of various intellect. Even Gates, Ambani need money and so you and i my friend.
The extra mile, the extra effort which is in discussion is not always true. Recognition of work or award for the work mostly is like feather on one's cap. But in practice, most bosses in office, do exploit and in the name of recognition.
My boss used to say, Give More work to those persons who work, and give less work who don't work, those people who dodge from working. Ultimately the honest worker, continues to stay in that cadre, and work for ever, whereas those who while way, find other means to please or satisfy the boss and move higher in the cadre.
So my bone of contention is there is no extra recognition that is being given in the present world. Take care friend.
