I fly all the timme due to my job. I've seen many new moms with their babys on the planes before. They may get an ear ache and cry but I don't belive it would cause any damage. I still get ear aches sometimes. I'm not a Dr. you might wanna call one and ask! Hope this helped? tdemex

It's really not the altitude, it's the plane your riding in. The planes have to try and keep the air pressure balanced with the normal pressure on the ground. Some do a good job and others don't it's as simple as that. That's why I don't always get ear aches! The last comment was also a good one! Hope this helps ya!

hi. to be sure that you'll get accurate informations, go to your pediatrician and ask if it's ok or not. The doc would surely know what to say in these cases..The baby might not be able to take the pressure from flying but I do see some women with babies on the plane. So, why not seek professional help.

I don't see a problem. I have seen newborns on planes, lol. Just give her a bottle to suck on during take off and landing. The suction motion will help with the pressure adjustment in the ear during that time frame.
But first get the all clear from your doctor. He can check her over and give you advice as to how to handle the pressure adjustment with her.

We traveled with my daughter when she was three months old, in a plane. The Dr. suggested having her suck on a bottle or pacifier as the sucking would help eleviate pressure on the ears. Since an infant cannot yawn to get the ears to pop and release the pressure.
