Do you offer any help or food to stray animals? I do! I can't stand the thought of letting a cat or dog go hungry. I know they can usually do pretty well for themselves, but it makes me feel better knowing I've given them a good meal. Right now I'm working on socializing a mom and her three kittens that are living under a shed behind my parents house. They started out terrified of people, but I'm making a lot of progress with them on the days I'm there. They're starting to trust me more and I've gotten the kittens to eat right out of my hand. I'm hoping to gain their trust, especially mom's, so that they will start to enjoy the touch of a human hand. I'm hoping to get them socialized enough that I can help them find good homes before winter hits.

Wow! That's a lot of stray cats! Have you ever tried to find homes for them?

Yes, I do I also adopt any stray that wanders in. That is why I have so many cats and kittens. I adopt all the ones that wander They all seem to see our community as sacred place. Once they come into my care and on our land they never leave.. Some times before we quite get them used to us who are ferals may wander a little but since we have the only unspayed females in an 11 miles radius usually they lure the Toms in, and I then Tame them, and after they are tamed and accepted into the community, the females no longer mate with them.... We get about 1-4 Tom strays wandering through we official have 15 cats, and there are 4 Stray Toms I am working on catching and Taming, but I am also holding off on that a little bit, until I can earn more money to spay, neuter, some of the cats I own. I do not want to do them, all as having a kittens yearly would not be the same. But I want to neuter all the males, and spay the females who already had a litter, and spay the ones that have sickly kittens.... So we do not have to worry about having more then we can provide for....Maybe Some days I'll learn how to become a retirement farm for feral cats, or a training farm for them, so they I can work with them to prepare them for a better home. I know for sure I will incorporate caring for cats in my ministry... .. So far alot of food we have is donated, is how we deal with food expenses.. I love my little furry people, and they love me..... I still have on problem with my cats and dogs, they tend to raid eachothers dishes so they get plenty of cat and dog food... Not always the best.

That's great that you are helping so many stray cats! It's definitely a good idea to get them spayed and neutered to help keep the animal population down.

We always had stray cats around our house when I was little because I would feed them. My dad helped me build a little house for them and they stayed around for a long time. Now that I have two indoor cats of my own, I work on trying to feed the strays and socialize them so they can become nice house pets. I think it's very rewarding when you see how much an animal can change with a little love. It's great to see them go into good homes where you know they'll be safe and cared for:)

It is good to help the animals for they are created by God for us to look after.
I have this experience that one of my neighbour loves feeding the cats in the neighbourhood..soon more came and somehow one day i discover a few of my flower pots contain cat's dropping in it.
It stinks and i need to remove(change) the soil. From that incident, I was wondering then if people would jus keep the stray cats as their pets, to raise them indoor and be responsible. I do love domestic pets but let it not be a nusiance to our neighbours.

It's great that your neighbor is helping the cats by feeding them. I can definitely understand why you are frustrated though. I think it's important to help take care of stray animals, but one of the best things you can do for them is to give them a good home inside. That's why I work so hard to make the strays friendly so I can find them nice owners who will keep them off the streets.
