I personallly think that IPL was just for making money and there was nothing cricket in it. I didnt had any interest in IPL matches. When cricket is between nations I feel like India should win and so we watch the match. In IPL there was no nation and gainers from matches were the business men who were behind earning more and more money. So the true spirit of cricket was lost. I dont know howmany people will agree with this. I will like to read other friends views about this.

So you are saying that because they are parading the young Indian cricketers IPL was a good one. Did you know that the IPL was hastily form because the other one was not given the nod by the ICB. IPL with its bag of big stars name was just another fail attempt to show the youngsters talent. We have the Sanford 20/20 in the West Indies which was a good one and that is why the league was form. But your Indian Board was totally against it. IPL saw the opportunity to outshine that one because of their money. Read the history and then we can discuss it.

dear raghwagh I am not fully convinced with your views. Earlier it was everybody's mind that IPL is for money making, but later it has been proved wrong. From the IPL tournament few good things has surfaced like we have seen /explored the talented cricketer from various region of India such as Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Balaji, Wridhhiman Saha etc. who can be accommodated in the national team. Second thing is that it is an unique to see different country's players under one roof, which will enhance a better understanding and friendly relation. Thirdly IPL really catched the eyes of many country's who are thinking to hold such style of game. I can assure you that t20 is the only game in the near future who will receive enmass support.

They saw that money could be made in iplt20, when they saw that Kapil was able to pour so much money in ICL tournaments sponsored by Zee Sports.
So first money was the main goal, other things has just followed as you have said.
Later people will opt to see cricket matches only if more of their state team player plays cricket. They may dislike foreign players and other state players.
This virtually will generate more interest towards cricket.

Yes I agree that youngsters are getting a chance but it can be done in International cricket also, for this was it a need to auction players. Also cricket is a game and i dont think that cricket stars shold be chear or expensive. It should be seen as a game only then only it will hav its importance otherwise it will loose its sports importance and will become another money earning profession.

I think you will agree with me this. This IPL cricket tournament itself was conducted as a competition to ICL cricket tournament. The idea being borrowed from Kapil Dev's ICL. If there was no ICL tournaments then there would have been NO IPLt20.
There would have been no big money playing if Zee Sports had not poured big money and attracted some star players to ICL.
BCCI was forced to put more money into cricket because of this ICL.
The quality of umpiring and other things in ICL was far better compared to IPL.
I only think more of opportunities might have been given to the local state players then to the other state players and foreign players. The money might also should have been circulated among our own players rather then to foreign players. This way our hard earned tax payers money does not go out of our country.

yes..you are right..In this IPL match all the players are playing for money..money...and money only...i couldn't see any other sporting in that. It is only for the businessmen, players & BCCI, not for the viewers. but they are trying to attract people by some other way except cricket such as cheer girls, fun...etc..there is nothing for people...Thanks...

Cricket my friend is about money for the investors. Cricket is an enjoyable game. In olden days there are alot of players who do not make any money. But these days it is all about money. The joy of cricket is loss because of the money that these investors/players are looking for in return. I do not pay the IPL much mind. The culture of India was demolish to me because of those half naked girls who are dancing that is not the India Culture I know. Well maybe next time it will plan better. This was a hasty IPL because of the other league that was form but wasn't approve by the Indian Cricket Board. So maybe they will see the wrongs that was made and right it.

IPL tournament was for money because no one will play with the team which they have the dog fights continously. They came here because the owners of the team were giving them lots of money .
