Do you think our life is DESTINED or IT IS ACTIONS WE MAKE?

There are still arguments about destiny and the actions we make. People mostly say that we are the ones who actually control what we want to do with our lives. It is our responsibility for ourselves whatever decisions we make and whatever we become it is because we made ourselves that way. But others would contradict that, they would say we are already destined and God already planned out what we will before we were born. What I believe is both. God already have planned out things for us, He made us choices to choose to what we want to do with our lives. And this comes our actions and our responsibilities. God gave us the opportunities but others were blind to see it. But I think I have made a good decision about myself and what I want to do with my life. What about yours?

I don’t think that life is predestined. I think the outcomes are a mixture of chance, divine intervention and the choices we make. I think that if for instance we get hit by a truck on our way to work it is because we chose that time to go to work and we just happened to be in that space at that time
Lets say you happen to get a job with a prestigious law firm. I think that is as a result of our decision to study for law school ,pass the requisite exams and apply for the law firm .God will give us a helping hand along the way but I don’t think he decides beforehand that this is what me must do.
I think however, if you missed an accident because you were delayed at home by your baby girl ,then that is divine intervention. You walk by this intersection which you are usually at by eight and there is an accident there but you weren’t there today because of your baby girl

Well I think I am similar to you. Even though I always tell myself that life is what we make it to be so that I can encourage myself to take some actions. However I guess I do think I believe in destiny sometimes though I don't believe in god myself. Yet I agree with you that it's important that we know what we want so that we can actually do something to get it.

I believe it is through the actions we make and its repercussions. I know this argument may not be put to rest, but its just my opinion. anybody who has a contradictory one is entitled to it. =)

I don't.
What happens to you is a result of myriad variables, most out of your control such as the decisions you and others make. The only thing that controls what happens in the future, is what happened in the past. For example, say I die in a car crash tomorrow, it may be because I decided to drive a different route than normal or the other driver decided to speed. I guess I'm saying that you are partly responsible for your own "destiny" or what happens in your life and that's not predetermined.

Life is mix of both. in some cases things happen as they are destined. in some cases its always on the action we take. may be there are most of the things in which we can decide the course of the things.in some cases however hard we try, we are not successful.

Destny is simply the strenth of your desire. But I also think that God knows your future, HE may not reveal it to you but HE will walk with you as the future unfolds. So don't trust the stars trust the ONE who made them.

For me, God has a wonderful plan for us. But we can't foresee it and so many times we try this and that and yet the outcome normally wasn't good for us. So, I'll make decision based on my desire and also advice from family and friends. Then, I'll pray to God to grant me that decision if it is according to His Will. So, I do pray to God and make own decision and believe by faith that God will guide my path and bless me much!

Our life is destined by our actions made in our past lives.
Our actions made in this life will create destiny for our future life.

Well I dont I think we make our own choices and make the most of our oppurtunities if we want to. Some people I think can be so busy feeling sorry for themselves about one thing that went wrong that they miss the great things that just pass them by. Others make the most of every tiny little thing.
I have to say I know what I want to do with my life and will do everything possible to make it work, if it doesnt it wont be because I didnt try, and if it does I can truly say it wasnt just 'luck'

I don't really believe in destiny. I think people get were they are by their actions.

it is destined. but that doesnt mean we should lay in bed thinking everything will go as destined. we have to play our roles in the fate. no one can out-run his or her fate. its not at all possible. its best if everyone makes their own decisions, and they have to make good ones. its all about surviving and surviving good.

As for me, I think it's a little bit of both. There are some things that we are destined for. May it be professional, or something that we can achieve. It could have been placed when we were born. Hence, the usual notion is "you were born to be". On the other hand, free will comes into play and our decisions and actions based on that decision will be a deterrent to what may or may not happen.
I do agree with what you said. God gave us the opportunities. He won't give us what we want easily. He will give us a chance to get it. It is up to us to take it and get the most out of it. Take care.

I agree with you smooch. I liken my life to a road map I was given at birth with a final destination on it. There are major highways that are clearly the ones I should take. These highways have different roads I can go down. There are mountains that I inevitably have to climb. Sometimes I tail gate close behind someone else, and sometimes I lead the way. I pick up people I like along the way and combine our maps. Sometimes I have to ask directions. Sometimes I have to take time out to help others find their way. Rest stops are important for fuel and sanity, and sometimes I even need a tune-up!

If I believe that my life is purely destined to something whatever actions I do, then what is the sense of having our own will to choose? I believe that we make our own destinies. We are our own writers of our life's history. I'm pretty sure that God (of whatever religion) didn't just set a single destiny for us. For whatever action, there's an opposite equal reaction. Same with decisions and choices we make. Whatever we choose to do, will bring us to another road we can walk on. Whatever path we take for any crossroads we encounter, there will be a risk- a risk that we might as well anticipate so before something comes up, we have a fallback plan. God won't give us everything we wanted. we should work for it. We must be deserving. We can't rely on good luck alone. Because is life is not matter a chance, but a matter of choice. So always take the responsibility to make good choices.
