Good free games to play offline?

Hi! As I soon go on a summer vacation, I won't have Internet. So i want to get some offline games to play on my laptop. Do anyone know any good sites, or preferable, any good games that I could play? My PC is average, with 512 MB Ram, not sure about the other stuff...

Hem,you can download some of the games in Shockwave. And,if you like strategic turn-based game,look for UFO:alien invasion.It's a remake of a 1993 pc game.

Well, there is a site where you can download some of the old games that are good. I found them good (Street fighter II, Mortal Combat ... the list is long check out http://www.bestoldgames.net. You can search the categories and select what you like. The good thing is that you don't get limited time to play and they are not trial games.

Thanks! The site the other guy posted was really bad.. Didn't understand anything of it. And the layout was bad. I'll try this one.
