We have two beautiful huskies and we are wanting to breed them. I think our female may be pregnant already but I don't know how to tell. She's got nipples that she's never had before, but only 4. Anyone have any answers?

I dont just mean a vet ok - I mean health tests and scores and reslts. Sorry would have to check what they have but assuming you know as you have bred them - im guessing hips as most breeds need it can never remember if huskys do or not...
as for silent heat well if you dont know then yep vet check to be certain id suggest it worth paying for a scan.

Thanks. That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if there was another way to tell. We are taking her to the vet next week, so we'll find out more there. I just know that friends of ours bred dogs (not for money, just a few litters). And they never took them to the vet to find out if they were pregnant... they could just tell. I can't get ahold of our friends so I didn't know.
Hips can be a BIG problem in huskies so we've kept a close eye on our babies for that. And they've both checked out fine. The vet also told us that since our female is 3 years old and hasn't had any litters that she could start having some problems, so we wanted to start. Our male had a big check up to make sure he was mature enough to breed and he's fine. I guess we will just see next week!

You should be breeding your dogs unless they are.....
perfect examples of their breed i.e. perfect conformation & temperament, show quality.
you must have them hip scored etc so they won't pass on any genetic faults to their puppies.
you also shouldn't breed them unless you have homes already waiting for the puppies.

You should consider going to your vet or a reputable for more involved instructions. Most dogs shouldn't be bred before a certain age and most should have various and assorted health screening done so your pups are healthy.
If your girl hasn't been in heat yet, she probably isn't pregnant.

That should have been 'reputable breeder', not just reputable. :)

When was her high fertile time and what days did you breed her one? Tell me you know that at the very least?
she wont have grown extra nipples they probably just were not very prominent. I also hope both dogs are of a decent age to be bred and have had all the relevent health checks.

Yes they are both of good breeding age. We took both of them to the vet a month ago and our vet okayed both of them to breed. We know that our female has a silent heat so that part is hard to tell when she's in heat, but the vet said that she was about ready then. So we put them together about 3 weeks ago.
