If you have a profile you could ask her to add you, just don't let her know that her mom knows anything about it. Now, this can backfire, if you tell her mom something and she mentions it to her daughter, then she will delete you from her friends list. I was keeping an eye on my s/o's daughter, she had me and my s/o on her friends list, and my daughter. She was supposed to be grounded and not on the computer, when her dad mentioned this to her mom, she really got grounded and deleted me (only) from her friends list. However, I'm the one who set up her dad's profile and I have the password to it, since I set it up, so I can still check on her profile and see what's going on or what is being said from her friends. The only other solution is that the mom tell her daughter the only way she will be allowed to have a profile is if her mom also has access or is on her friends list. His daughter's his set to private, then again so is mine, because it's safer that way for her, and I mainly use mine to post pics for family to see and stuff, so I don't really want all the friend requests.

all you have to do is add them as a friend and only if they accept can you view blocked profiles.

there is no code however my child who is 14 has a myspace I set up for him I also set it to private that way no one can get to his page without personaly knowing him. My son and I also have the understanding that I will have his password and I will occasionaly moniter his page. I intern have promised him that I will not notify his friends parents of anything that is going on unless I feel as thou their child is in trouble.

I agree with palonghorn and momwattitude. I am on the friend's list of the 3 of ours who have a myspace. They know I'm there but I don't pester them unless it's necessary. I also have my daughter's password so I can log on whenever and she knows that.
There is a 'code' to view private profiles. It's called open communication. Snooping is the best way to keep a private profile private. Talk to this girl or better yet tell her mother to talk to her. If she has nothing to hide and is comfortable she may willingly show her mother her page. But her mom has to show genuine interest and not come across as suspicious.
