Anyone else trying to drink more water?

I have started to focus on getting healthier and I have decided that drinking more water daily - at least 8 glasses - would be a good thing for my body. I think it is a thing that I will have to get used to because by the end of the day I am feeling quite water-logged and my trips to the loo have doubled!
To those out there that drink lots of water, have you noticed that your skin is clearer and that you feel generally better in yourself?
Is there anyone out there like me, that is new to drinking lots of water? What are your consequences?
Do you think it still counts as water if you add a little fruit juice or cordial? I am finding it all a bit bland!
Even though I am trying to spread the glasses of water over the whole day I am finding that by the end of the day I feel heavy with water - anyone else feel this way?
I recently went to the doctor because my body was carrying extra fluid, the doctor said it was because I was suffering from constant slight dehydration and that my body was storing it and that drinking more water will help me not carry so much fluid. Has anyone tried drinking more water to ease fluid retention?

Maybe you should try adding a squeeze of lime or lemon to it to freshen the taste. Do you not like all water - as in bottled and from the tap? Have you tried the flavoured waters that they have available now - maybe they would be a good option for you.

I am not necessarily trying to drink more water but I am thinking of drinking mango juice by adding water to mango puree. I wonder what the effect will be health-wise. Would the drink give me more energy? My tea plants are too tiny to harvest so I must find some substitute for them.

Sounds like nice juice to me! If you are after a healthy alternative sweet drink, I think you have found it.

Thats a good idea! I am sure that you will be able to build up to eight glasses in no time.

They actually say that by the time you are thirsty you have already become slightly dehydrated! I am thinking that maybe if I get myself into the habit of drinking one glass on waking, one glass at breakfast, one at morning tea, another at lunch and then at afternoon tea and one at dinner and then two at bedtime I will get my 8 glasses a day. But to me it is easier said than done!

More water is good to health as advise by many.I did consume 6 to 8 glasses a day regularly.I also take tea in the morning and in the evening.I didn't feel heavy because I always go to restrooms every two hours to release some fluids.

I guess that is the key, lots of bathroom visits, to flush all the impurities out. I am not a tea drinker myself, but I guess it would be a good drink to add to your water total.

Thank you for commenting on my post! I hope that alot more people drink lots of healthy amounts of water for their bodies, so that I am not the only water-logged one! I just keep telling myself that it is good for me. Lets hope I can stay focused on my goal, which is to have a healthier, happier, slimmer body.

I guess some people don't need as much water as others. I want to start having the eight glasses of water daily as a good habit. Then hopefully it won't seem like alot.

Well I'm trying to drink more water. I've completely cut pop (soda, whatever) out of my diet. I'm getting married in 3 months and I've had some big big problems over the last few years. I've had 4 miscarriages now and each time they put my on a new birth control, I just get pregnant again and miscarry again. Each time, gaining a good 10lbs at least! So my fiance and I made the decision to go off birth control (since it has been the common factor in all of these cases)... so hopefully I will be able to take some weight off. I'm trying to eat more veggies and less carbs and sugars. And of course, drinking LOTS of water. I mean... it's one of the best things out there for you.

Sounds like you really are having a rough time of it. Hopefully going off birth control will help. I think that eatting healthier and drinking more water could only make things better for your body, so it is a great step towards good health for you.
I hope you have a fantastic wedding, how exciting! And that your pregnancies in the future will stay and grow with you.
