I dont think that viruses are created for fun and if it is happening then it is the worst fun i have ever seen. Damaging others property and harassing others is certainly not fun and is a sin. I thinks viruses are created by antivirus companies as said by some friends and by some fools who think they are smarter.

I think it's a matter of power and hope for some fame, even if it's only within the cybergeek world. Either way, I think they need to find better ways to waste their time.

Some do it because they're good at it. They take pride in creating one that can penetrate the toughest security and give big company a run for their money. The best one are unknown or only known by their aliases. Unfortunately so many are just trying hard copy cats with dumb luck.

I think most of the viruses you get these days have been created by the companies, who then just happen to have the software to fix it at a price.
Having spent about a week trying to get completely rid of one, I could quite happily kill anyone even contemplating doing this.
