Looks like bars are the talk of the town nowadays. I think this is becoming a phenomenon-this bar thing...
I'm 17 and I know a lot who frequent bars...
I had a few older friends when I was younger like in the past few years (2000-2005) but I haven't heard of them going to bars...
But now, I started to notice that it became a trend-going to bars... It's become popular, I know a lot who go to bars to party...a few times is okay but they go like almost every week... What's with this bars? oh and bars are popping out like crazy as a lot of young people frequents it...
I'd like to go to one to have a good time but I don't want to frequent bars though...

Bars have been around in the Philippines for years but it's not a place where most young people frequent before. In the past, when you mention of the word "bar" it has a bad connotation, like a place of ill-repute. Nowadays, it's different. It's just a place where young people hang out, relax and meet with their friends. Another reason I think why many young people go to bars is because they can afford it already. Most of these people who go to bars work at call-centers where they have more extra income to spare on fun and entertainment. Another reason could be the influence of western TV shows and movies of which it is a known fact that Filipinos do imitate what is being done in Western countries.
There's nothing wrong with going to a bar as long as you go there for fun and you're with friends that you are comfortable with. Don't get wild like some people that they couldn't control themselves when they get drunk. Having fun is part of life, so party while you can but be responsible. Don't drink and drive. Always have a designated driver. Enjoy!
