Do you have a charm bracelet? What do you have on it?

In the past I have bought charm bracelets for my friends and family But I don't have and I've been meaning to buy one for myself. I plan to buy a gold bracelet and start a collection. My idea is to put travel-related charms on it, maybe of the countries and places that my husband and I have visited.
Anyone who has a charm bracelet? What charms do you have on it? How did you get started? Any special gifts of charm? Would love to hear.

I have several charm bracelets! I really love them. My favorite ones are the ones with the small dangling charms and my favorite color is silver. A friend bought me a charm bracelet for Christmas one year with a few charms on it, then my parents gave me more charms and I picked up a few charms myself. Then the chain broke and I haven't worn it since :-) I also have a couple of those Italian charm bracelets, one is just plain silver with an etched diamond pattern. I like the plainness of it. Then the other one I have is a medical one, it says Diabetic on Insulin on a double charm in the middle and then it has doctor medical symbols on each side of that and then each other charm on it has a red asterik on it. It's cool and I bought that on ebay for less than $10 and that was with shipping! Last year I bought a new charm bracelet for myself, silver chain and all silver charms that are all horses. I thought that would be fun.
I also have a charm bracelet that my parents gave me when I graduated from 8th grade so very many years ago! I don't wear it anymore cuz its pretty beat up since I am now 47 years old!
I have bought my grown daughter several charm bracelets and charms. The last charms I bought her were a bunch of cute Italian charms off of ebay with neat colorful things on them like pumpkins and stuff. She loves Halloween stuff so some of the charms reflect that.
I wouldn't mind having other charm bracelets too since I like them so much but for now, no money to buy more charms!

Wow, you do love charm bracelets! I enjoyed reading the stories behind your collection. It really inspired me to start one of my own. I may even give a real charm bracelets to my nieces so they would have something memorable from me too. Maybe something that will last 30 years or more just like yours. I gave them some charm bracelets before but they were cheap, just for fun and not really for keeps. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

Yes I have one. My mom started it for me about 30 years ago with a charm we bought on a vacation. I've kept it going all these years with charms I buy when I'm on a trip. I don't wear it very often as it's really jingly and loud and it hurts my wrist when I'm at work using my laptop. I'd hate for my co-workers to be annoyed by the jingling sound. I do love my bracelet though and like to occasionally look at the charms and think back on all the places I visited. Mine is silver as I'm too cheap to buy gold LOL.

That's very sweet how you started with your charm bracelet. I actually prefer to start it that way, as a gift from someone special. Maybe that's the main reason why I haven't started one of my own yet 'cause I'm still waiting. Thanks for sharing your story.

That sounds like a great idea to get charms when you're on vacation. Then those charm would have a special memory attached to it. I have a charm bracelet but only a few charms on it that I got at the local store. I started it when I got this bracelet with a doggy chain on it when I bought a book. Then one day I was at a craft shop and saw these charms and bought them for my bracelet. Now my bracelet has a doggy, a house, a flower and a red crystal.
