My 73 year old mother was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. She has two tumors and the Cancer has spread to her lymph nodes. She has so far gone through two chemo sessions, and the doctor said the tumors have already shrunk some this is very good news. They plan to do two more chemo treatments and then the surgery to cut the rest out.I think then she does chemo and radiation. I understand the chmo but I do not know what the radiation does and if that will also make her sick. The chemo so far has not made her too sick. The doctors have put her on a pill that reduces the nausea and she has lost all her hair, other then that she has done well so far. Does anyone have any info on what radiation does,or a similar story where they can relate?

if chemo wasn't super hard on her then radiation should not be very hard either. its less intense than chemo in my opinion. My grandfather has stage 4 throat cancer, if he makes it though his surgery then he will start light radiation, and in January im going to start school for radiation therapy.
