I have a Toshiba for some 8 years now, it still works although the problems now are too many for me to bother with it. The Floppy drive doesn't work and 3 keys in the keyboard don't as well. For over 6 years worked perfectly, although it has a 556mhz Celerom processor and only 96MB or RAM I had Windows XP running on it without a problem. Never had compatibility issues with anything I threw at it, from software to hardware. In Portugal they aren't the most affordable, you can find Toshiba amongst the most expensive brands like Sony but one thing is for sure, every person I know that owns a Toshiba is very happy with the purchase. I remember some time ago Toshiba had a campaign (at least in Portugal) where you would buy a laptop and if it had problems during the 2 year warranty it would be immediately replaced by a new one and you would get to keep yours after being repaired. You would either have no problems with it or get 2 for the price of 1 if it had problems.

i think toshiba is a good brand for laptops since my father use his toshiba laptop over a year for his work. it also depends on the person on how they handle their computers regarding its brand. as long as you're very careful using it, i know that it will last over a year and a year and a year and so on lol

I'm sure you have checked the specs and you find it ok for you and your budget and your just contemplating with the brand. Toshiba is a solid name and been around for quite some time now so I would say yes, it is a reliable brand. Welcome Celestislove to mylot and happy posting.

My previous laptop is Toshiba and it is good for me.The one that I have is a windows me version installed, but since windows me is not supported that time,I have upgrade it to windows 2000 and still works until now.It has only 64mb but quite good.So I would say, if it is the best for your money, you can trust with it.Thanks.
