Ramayana and mahabharatha are epics or real ?

Ramayana and mahabharatha are true stories or these are only epics..
can anyone please explain about that..
Ramar does lives in the world really or all characters in
that epics are only imaginary ..

There could be truth in them. Archaeological excavations have brought to light several factors pointing to the truth of these stories.
However, it isn't the truth of the stories, but the amazing and deep philosophy they contain that is important. The "Mahabharata" especially influenced me so much, and I guess I can still talk about it. It is the most amazing epic story I have ever read.
