It usually takes me only 5- 10 minutes to fall asleep every day.
If I can't, I will say a quick prayer for my family and loved ones. Sometimes I also wake up with a prayer thanking God for the new day.
Most of the time I don't have problems trying to sleep. only if my mind is very busy do i have problems falling asleep, or if I'm very excited about something happening the next day, or if I try to go to bed very much earlier than the usual time.

Well as my fiance says.. As soon as i hit the pillow im out. I think i toss and turn a little bit and get comfortable and then not long after that i am out. If im not comfortable it takes me a little longer to get to sleep. i have to be just right. not to hot and definately not to cold. I used to listen to the music when i was a teen to fall asleep but i dont need to do that now.

I think it was easier for us to get good sound sleep when we were in our teens. Probably as we get older we need lesser sleep. There was a time when I would hit the pillow and be out immediately but now I keep tossing and turning and do not let even others sleep properly.

One should always pray before sleep to receive devine inspirationa and quiet peace of the soul during the night.
I really truly don't have any issues falling asleep. I can simply close my eyes and be asleep.
My wife hates it but it works.

It's called practice. You need to tell your mind it's time to go to bed, then set a routine. eventually it will happen.

I think many wives have this complain of husbands falling asleep in a fraction of a second. I dont know how you guys manage to do that. And inspite of praying and meditation and music and every thing possible I am still not able to get sleep soon and have to drag myself out of bed in the mornings!

It does not take much time for me to sleep. It hardly take 5-10 minutes before I fell asleep. My better half sometimes complains that I sleep so quickly that she does not realise........I tell her that if one is tired, he cannot help it. I usually get up very early in the morning (specially on working days) so I go to bed latest by 10.00 p.m. I sometimes listen to songs on my mobile, when I am unable to sleep despite passing 10-15 minutes on the bed.

If I get late in my schedule, as far as sleeping is concerned, I feel restless. I prefer going to bed, most of the times, on a set time.

i've never really taken that much notice but i think i sleep quite fast. i don't have to wait and wait for sleep to come to me unlike my hubby.
for him, even if 1 or 2 hours has passed, he can't sleep sometimes unless he's really tired. and that too, it needs him at least around half an hour to get to sleep.
for me, i guess i fall asleep within 10 to 15 minutes though even faster sometimes. once my head touches the pillow, i'll be off to dreamland very soon. no need to count sheep.

I took like forever to fall asleep on normal days, unless I'm SUPER tired. I can lie as long as up to 4 hours and still not sleep! =/
Usually I will first listen to music, trying all kinds of music.. starting from the noisiest to classical Lol. If still not able to sleep, will try to read something real bored.. In some extreme cases(if not working) I will just on my computer and let my tiredness come to me. It's bad... can't help it =(

Meditation needs concentration and I cannot concentrate while meditating because my mind is on other things. That is the reason why I dont get sleep also. So I dont know how to make meditation help us. For that I have to blank off everything in my mind and it is impossible!

Yes, it's Very frustrating sometimes. I guess most of the time we can't sleep because we tend to think a lot! Most of the times, it's hard to clear my mind. Any suggestions to clear all thoughts when lying on bed? lol, I know meditating might help, but I can't really grasp the meditating techniques, I find myself thinking more _

Hi mayka123,
Well that depends. When I'm not stress out I will usually slept in about 5 minutes.I normally will do some light reading, listening to music, watching tv,work on my aquarium plants, gardening, water my plants, playing computer games, surfing the internet before going to bed.Aslo I keep my bed and environment cool to feel relax and comfortable. When I'm stress out I couldn't hardy sleep soundly.I've tried using aromatic scent, relaxing tea like chamomile, inducing sleep gadgets, some light exercise 3 hours before bed, ionizers but still no positive solution. Some normal routine like drinking warm milk doesn't help.My mind seem to be very active on the worries of the day. This is like I've this inborn weakness which I'm not able to control. My father has this problem too, I think this is partly inherited.I've even went to see a phsychology but they give me pills but not something to control naturally.I'm still searching for a remedy to put me to sleep better and hope I can find my solution here in myLot.My solution today is trying not to receive things that can stress me out and make me worry.Have a nice day:)

Hi mayka
I usually take very little time nowadays to get asleep. It has to do with the amount of exertion I am getting currently. This wasn't the case previously though. I could only get to sleep after a long long time with story books, music and stuffs like that...it was terrible time.

Hello dear mayka. It usually takes half an hour if I am tired and sleepy, but not always because sometimes it could take me an hour or longer before I could fall asleep. If I have a long nap in the afternoon, then it will be a hard time for me to fall asleep at night. The only way I do is to listen to English or radio or music to aid me with my sleep. Thank you for your discussion.

99% of the time I will fall asleep right after going to bed, just within a few minutes. I am not much of a night owl so falling asleep at night is usually no problem. On occassion I will watch tv but most times will fall asleep with the television on and my husband, who is a night owl will turn it off when comes to bed.

I don't need to read or to listen to music or to watch tv to fall asleep. As long as the lights are off, it usually takes me 30mins to 1hr to fall asleep.
