i normally just play off the top of my head by starting with a king-side pawn advancement. What openings do you use?

Normally i will start with the king side pawn too cause it will give the opportunity to move my bishop. Then i will castle king side as soon as possible to make sure my king was safe.

i moslty use the 1.e5 too...since it could lead to a number of variations and chess opening, then proceed to mobilizing my officials in a Scotch Gambit trap, or to dominate the central square in an Italian Game. ^^,
When I'm playing white, the best defence is a good offence. But when I'm playing Black, I'm more tactical and defensive.

I used 1.e4 too. You can mobilise your pieces here easily and can be converted readily to different openings such as sicilian, french, etc. depending on how your opponent responds. And after castling at the king side for safety, you can start now the onslaught against enemy. Then happy playing.
