We are Created in the Image of God!

God is triune - Father, Son and Holy Spirit Man is three parts- body, soul, and spirit We are like Him in that we know right from wrong.

I think it is difficult to put in airtight compartments regarding the components for which the Bible says 'image and likeness of God'. But generally it is meant the rational faculty, the emotional faculty, the spiritual faculty, and the relational faculty. When we take these four components I think we can fairly say that human being is different from others. I don't think there is any animal that bears these four faculties like us.

Yeah i guess that means all the qualities we possess, like our free will and our mind to judge the good from the bad, like it would bother us to see innocent suffer, such love, care that humans possess, the nature of their hearts and minds are a reflection of Godly qualities...thus mayb its said we r made in the image of god and his qualities of love and affection...may b we might not be all loving and caring, but atleast we do have love as one of our quality

God created us humans unique among his creations. The term "created in the image of God" to me, meant that just like God he has given to us an ability to choose. He gave us the mind to become rational / thinker. The three components of man body, soul and spirit also demonstrate the triune God who created us.

I have read Bible,kuran and gita,what i have obserbed there is only one god in the theme,that is light of sivababa.

Like God, we don't want our loved ones to get hurt. Sometimes we even sacrifice for our loved ones. We all have that instinct to save our loved ones when they could be in danger. Sometimes, people who do not even know each other help each other. We are capable to help, to listen, to be a friend, to be a saviour, and just to be good in so many ways just like God.

This could be literally taken and I would not have a problem with that. Metaphorically, I would not have a problem with that either. If God is everything then we would have to exist in God. Where else would we be? What is the big deal about what our image is copied from? I don't think it is a question of image but of understanding our nature and God's nature.
