Credit Repair Businesses

I was just wondering if any of mylot friends have ever used a credit repair business to fix things on their credit reports? Reason being there are things on my credit report that shoudn't be there. Things that are 7,10,15 years old. I have tried to get them removed on my own without any results. I was just wondering if these places can actually do what I can't? And if so how long does it take them to get these things removed? Thanks for your help in advance.

i'm very wary of any company that charges a fee to get stuff off your credit repair, i'd ask for something in writing and a money back guarantee!

I'm the same way. The mortgage co. we are going through has recommended this credit repair place. They claim they will refund our money if they can't get these things removed. But I'm still leary. Thanks for your thoughts. Have a good day.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to dispute these things on my own for a month now. The companies keep coming back saying their info is correct, even though I have documentatiom saying otherwise. They have removed somethings but not the ones that keeps me from getting a loan. Its been nothing but a headache.

I have never tried any of these businesses, but they better be legit. People have to put out alot of money to these lawyers to get these things removed. I think it is rediculous that they are still on there after so many years have passed anyway. They say it is supposed to come off after so many years, so I don't know why it is still on there to begin with. I think credit is just a scam thing. It is hard to get it and hard to keep it and use it most of the time. I hope this is legit for you though. I would hate to see you lose the money and waste your time. I hope you have a local lawyer to get this done for you. It should be legit if so.
