Don't you hate it when a website freezes up your screen?

What do you do, when your mouse freezes up and you have to suffer until the page loads? Do you organize your desk? Do you work on an offline software program? Most times I like to work in multiple tabs, because it helps me to get more done. Usually, I'll click on a link and then switch to another tab, while the first page is laoding. That way I don't have to suffer through the dreaded white screen. But, today I hit a site that refused to let me switch to another tab. It froze up my mouse and wouldn't let me move. So, I typed on my Notepad, instead. What would you have done?

Aren't you very clever beauty - I would probably have sat and fumed or got engrossed in a game or tv station that would have made me forget what I was doing in the first place! lol I am like you and usually use multiple tabs myself to try and avoid just that situation if I can! xxx

I usally reboot my computer if my computer freezes up for to long. Or I go away from my computer for a little while then I come back.

That is true also and a big pain to go back and to try and find what you were doing before it happened

You're right. Rebooting works. But, it's such a hassle, I lose all my open pages and programs.

In my case, the whole browser freezes up. So, even when I have multiple tabs open, it doesn't help. Since I upgraded my virus protection, I've noticed that it's not quite as bad because the program that I have now removes adware and spyware. Having a lot of tabs open can slow your browser down, too, as each page takes a lot of power to run.

I'll need to upgrade mine, then. Thanks for the tip.

I hate when that happens...if it don't start working no matter what I try, I will just reboot my computer and start over again. I don't have the patience to sit here and wait for it to download.

Yes, it is a major pain when the computer either freezes, or just loads so slow you can't even tell if anything is happening. Microsoft should be building into Windows such controls that give the user control over all the ways others try to control your computer. A common frustration for many.

Sure I hate it. I hate it if my computer is slow or when it slows all of a sudden. If it freezes, it is just a few seconds at most so obviously I can't do much but stare and curse. If it is likely to take long, then something big is happening and I better try to fix the machine! Or if you are really just taking about a slow connection... a page taking forever to load, then I will... I don't know... suck thumb?

I originally thought you meant that one tab will freeze up your entire screen making you not unable to do anything else on the computer until it either fixes itself or you have to press CTRL ALT DEL. I usually end up having to do that or unplug my power cord from the laptop. So, me? I wait.

Well it doesn't happen too often with my computer and never for very long so i usually just wait it out. It is so annoying though when it happens i'm glad it doesn't happen for me very often. I notice it tends to happen when i'm doing a lot of things at once with my computer.

I hate and so do millions and billions of other users online. But what difference does it make. Hating doesnt solve any problem. I have switched from IE to firefox and the best thing about firefox is even if one tab gets screwed up all the other tabs work. If the program crashes, the program can be revived with all the previous tabs. In IE if one tab gets screwed all is lost. I just hate it. Boo to MS IE 7.

I hated that situation when that happens. Usually the best thing that I do Is reboot my computer but the worst thing there is, you lose the informations that you search in the page so you will start browsing again.

I usually hit up Solitare till everything unfreezes. Also if your Using Firefox or IE browsers you can easily switch tabs by pressing Ctrl + Tab, sometimes even if it looks like its frozen you should give it a try.

I try to be patient but then there are times when it makes me ill to the point that i have to get up and get something to drink or something to snack on. The i might get an error and the whole box closes. But i start all over again. That I'm use to something strange happening all of the time. Just keep going

Usually it dosen't bother me unless it's some weird website that popped up on my screen because of all the stupid adware and spyware that somehow gets past all my blockers. Other that that I just wait it out. Usually I go eat or watch TV.

I also hate this kind of behavior my computer does. I guess this is due to the speed of my computer and its memory. I have nothing to do with this, I only have to wait. But to avoid freezing, I don't open too many tabs, just 4 or 5 tabs maximum...
