I know two people who have undergone the Lap Band surgical procedure to loose weight. They are both women. One of which was in her 50's and probably was at least 150 lbs over weight for her height. Her doctor actually recommended the surgery to her because of the many other health conditions she had, Diabetes, Thyroid problems, High Blood Pressure and Sleep Apnea.
So she had the surgery and a two years later she is down over 100 lbs. And she is much healthier not to mention she is much happier.
The second woman I know who had this surgery was in her early 20's and had rapidly gained weight over the course of a couple years after high school, although she did have a weight problem most of her life...but most of the excess weight was gained in the matter of a couple years. She had the surgery as well and has gone from around 300 lbs to 120 something. She is super tiny now. Smaller than she was even in Junior High School.
What is your feeling about weight loss surgery? Do you think it is a good solution for obesity?

That's horrible to me. I heard that the surgery make kill people. I prefer exercises to surgery.

My advice to that kind of people is turn to the doctors. The doctor will give a more reasonable advice.

Hie Christymac, those are drastic measures taken when they are no other alternatives but it's the only way to save the lives of those unfortunate obese people.
Lot of risks are involved when surgery is concerned and sustainability of healthy living must still be inculcated n order to have a quality life after surgery.
Exercise and eat less to prevent from being obese and with good health will provide a better meaningful life and less stress too for everybody.

Yes I agree with living a healthy lifestyle. Both women who had this surgery have improved their lives dramatically. I think the surgery allowed them to be more positive and care more about their health.
