Mother leaves child in car in 100 degree heat!

I heard on the news today that a mother left her young child in her car while she did her food shopping. It was close to 100 degrees outside and the car was off with all the windows up. She wasn't even just running in, she was inside for over 20 minutes. The mother actually had the nerve to show her face on camera and defended her actions, claiming that she is under a lot of stress and had gotten only a few hours of sleep the night before. Could you ever be so tired or stressed to do something so careless? Do you think this mother should lose her child?

How can a mother ever do this to a child, and then make an excuse like she is stressed, and did not get much sleep. How can you be under so much stress to not care about your child? Especially in 100 degree heat. Something could have happened to the child, and then how would the mother feel. For me, this is complete carelessness, and I feel the mother deserves to be punished in some way for this and be shown a lesson. As to loose the child, that might be a little harsh, but there definately needs to be a lesson learned here for the mother before next time, it is even worse.

Sickening. Some people jsut shouldn't have children. What is up with some people? And how do you leave a baby in the car? I would like to assume that a mother would know that she had a kid since she had gone through labor and everything. And I know what stress is. But I don't think I'd ever leave a kid in a car. No I don't think she should lose her child, but maybe this event should go on o record or something.

While it is sad, it is also easy to see how a mother could make a mistake like that. I once saw a small news segment on it and a study showed that its easier to forget about your baby than most things if your in a rush. Sure we say "how could she!?!?" but when they are doing it day to day, always rushing, taking care of the baby, preparing food etc. etc. it can be easy to forget it. Sad, but it does happen. Dan

Wow, i don't know what's up with these kind of people these days. Alot of lives are being lost and it's not because of diseases. It's because of careless mistakes people who call themselves "mothers" do. This really irritates me because a baby does not deserve to lose it's live because the "mother" want's to have some fun.
