What "the Word " exactly is?

" In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God. From the very beginning the Word was with God. Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. The Word was the source of life, and this brought light to humanity ."
( John 1:1-4 )
Can somebody tell me what "the Word " exactly is?
Please be concise!

Yeah, the word was Jesus....so the word was with God, the word already existed.

I always believed that verse referred to Jesus himself... at least, that's what I was taught. I'm sure other people may have different ideas on it.

Ahh, and then there is the one in John 14:6 where Jesus himself says 'I am the way, the truth and the life.'... 'The Truth' is used elsewhere as an alternative to 'the word'... so essentially, Jesus himself claims to be 'the word'.

Hi Curious, the word. It has the power. The word of god has its power. In the begining the Word was with Almighty God. The Word of Bible can heal us. It hold a mighty power. From there brings retalation about God. The Creator Our God. Praise the Lord.

Word is that we have the power to express and communicate, to think and create events in our lives. Word is the most powerful tool that is man. Word is the manifestation of our spiritual being.
Word can create the most beautiful dream, but it can destroy. Spoken or written word is so powerful that a simple word can change a life or destroy the lives of millions.
Words have power that we give it. Sometimes it is not wise to take them too seriously. People are not always what they say they will do, so expect to see if they will scatter and take root words. Wait to see if the facts reflected words, do not rush to believe them or let you hit them.
Words spoken in haste, under the impulse of hatred and anger, fueled by unfulfilled, frustration, immaturity, loss of control can be forgiven and forgotten inner.
Only when such words are translated into deeds need to take seriously. So, do not let words to cut the bridges between souls that crossed a bridge leading to separation sooner or later. And it's a sin to not give the true importance of the word. For him, the word is magic ... Or curse ...
